First off, I'm a true Tarheel fan. Heck, 3 of my kids were born at UNC Hospital. I'll say Rashad's a great talent, but even though he's matured alot the last couple of years, he's got a ways to go.
Take the following quote from him as an example. (I omitted the inessential parts and left what I feel is important to Rashad.)

"I've ..., ...for me ...keep my ...on myself," he said. "But my ... in me ...kept me ... giving me ...and I ...."

Any other Tarheels' out there feel this way? Or is it just me?

Not only is the whatever he said taken way out of context, but it's being hacked & slashed. Maybe he's taking the blame for a loss there?

I think he is a great talent and is scrutinized WAY too much by the media.

After every missed shot, after every foul complaint ( like he's the only player that complains) after every little hang on the rim, any time he looks upset after he makes a bad play, if he has too much facial expression, if he doesn't have enough facial expression, if Roy sits him on the bench after three fouls, hell after some OTHER player for another team does something, the TV announcers have to jump on the soap box and do their Rasahd routine.

Meanwhile choirboy Paul can make dirty play after dirty play and because he has this great smile on his face he is the poster child of everything good about college basketball.

    Give me a break

No - give McCants a break.

There has been plenty he's done or said I wish he hadn't but the kid doesn't deserve the egg shells most everybody makes him walk on.

Paul is a fucking thug. He and Ibekwe should have been tossed multiple times this season.

I don't really have a problem with McCants. He has never intentionally tried to hurt another player. He gets down on himself and that is his issue.

actually it was the essential parts you left out :

“I’ve been sick for the last couple of days or so, and it was tough for me to get out there and keep my composure and not get down on myself. But my teammates had confidence in me and they kept getting me good looks and I knocked them down."

of course the question asked is even more essential.

here is another quote from the same locker room interview :

"This is the biggest team we’ve ever faced and the biggest team I’ve ever seen. We knew they were going to block a lot of shots and we knew we were going to get fouled a lot. It wasn’t a pretty game at all."

I guess there were too much "we" in that one for you.

    Pretty much how I feel.

And wossa. Take the blinders off. He's a good kid, but he's out there by himself in alot of games.

He's got a decent attitude for someone in prison.
