But that's done regardles of whether we cut him or keep him. Point being, it costs little to keep him and see how he does.

I'm hoping the best for the guy.

I think we all do but he needs to get his act together and fly straight if he wants to even have a shot at starting. IMO.

Pro-rated bonuses are spread evenly throughout the contract. I don't think we cut his bonus up in chunks.

The downside to this is, with such a low salary and some time left on his contract, he may have to be a June 1st cut.

In a suspension, does the player forfeit the year, or does it just delay his contract by a year?

First thing for Rashard is to get clean. After that, he can come in and compete.

I think he needs to gewt his act together if he wants a roster spot, forget starting.

I don't see him starting at all, really.

My understanding from when this question was initially posed was a delay. The pro-ration of the initial bonus is spread for another year, also.

Could be wrong, but that's what I remember.

I know he doesn't get any compensation by us at all....no clue asds to whether he loses the year or not.

Here's the originally Pasquerelli story that sheds light on these questions. This is where I got my answer above.

I think Dereck's question was how is his rehap was going and whether it looked like we could count on him coming back next year. I took your response to be addressing his question and your statement that things look very bleak right now as to mean you had heard from a reliable source that he wasn't doing so good with his rehap, which would be disappointing. Apparently, you don't know how things how going right now and were making a statement based on your assumptions rather than having any basis for making such a statement.

If Anderson sees the end of his contract in Carolina, he should consider himself lucky. A former 1st rounder of a fired coach, who has failed to show much improvement...Fox will have little patience and will look to get something for him.
I can see him being traded for a third or fourth rounder with his bagage.

I think you're dreaming. I can't see any team being willing to trade anything for him now. Someone might give him a chance if we cut him. IF he can turn his life around, I would expect Fox to give him a chance. JR might be another matter. Even if he's given a chance to make our roster, there's no way we could count on him. He wasn't playing well last year and who knows if he would have a relapse. I think he would be dicey at best. Our best hope on surface would be Fair and Wesley turn out to be solid. Cousins and Howard would provide some decent depth. Still, I would think we would still be looking for a CB in at least the middle rounds to develop.
