I think the only thing that has been clarified by this conversation is that your obsessive dislike of Hurney has clouded your judgment. That one other poster has agreed with your opinion is not surprising. I'm sure if you took a league-wide survey of NFL fans, over 50% would vote their team's current GM as the worst in the league, and a majority would probably think Hurney would be a upgrade over their team's current GM. That's just the way it is, fans being fans instead of objective thinkers. I'm not defending Hurney's recent history of bad moves, and personally I wouldn't mind seeing the Panthers make change at GM, but to insist that Hurney is the worst GM in the league or the worst in Panthers history is just silly.

 

No, it's obvious. We've covered the embarrassing and lengthy list of Hurney's mistakes, whereas your only justification for ludicrously claiming that Capers was worse is the Gilbert deal (admittedly awful, but something he says he didn't even want to do) and drafting a guy who later had someone killed. Hurney didn't just make one or two bad moves, he has made two or more inexcusable decisions pretty much every single year.
