No, not the guy with glasses who played for New Orleans way back when they were in Charlotte....

How does Rambus memory fit into the SDRAM hiarchy? Is it faster than DDR? Slower than regular SDRAM? I know it has to be paired, but anything else I need to know?

    SDRAM transfers at 100MHz
    DDR transfers at 200MHz
RDRAM transfers at 800MHz but transfers less data at a time

Overall, Rambus is the best but also the most expensive.

Not necessarily. DDR's newest architecture is rated at 333 mhz. RAMBUS unofficially has a 1066 stick out too. However, RAMBUS has higher latency and has fallen out of vogue; Intel is slowly fazing them out of their lineup. They actually won't even support the 1066 stick.

Interesting Panthersrool. I haven't read up on them since I built my last computer so I guess I'm a bit behind.

I went with DDR because I felt it was a better investment for the price. Looks like I chose well. :D
