Here is the problem that i have with the whole situation. If Palmeiro does go into the hall of fame, im sure he is not the only one in there that has taken steroids. That being said. How do you let these players that knowingly and are brought in public for cheating allow in the game after 10 days. How is that punishment fair to baseball. At the same time how do you bann Pete Rose, perhaps the greatest hitter of all time for life. He didnt cheat. He bet for his team. The other games he bet on he couldnt control. You cant make a team win by managing it. This doesnt warrant a life bann if steroid use gets you 10 days- 1st offense, 30 days- 2nd. 3rd - 90 days. ????

no no, sorry should have clarified that. I mean he was betting on his own team. Meaning he could only do so much to win the game. Players still have to perform. Im saying he is not altering the game by managing. He was wanting to win because and he bet on them because he thought they would.

Thing is, if you have that much control of the game in the situation that he was in he could very well have changed the outcome by not making the right decision on purpose. Especially if he betted against his team which goes against any professional baseball ethic.
Do you know the story of Shoeless Joe Jackson?

I agree but Pete Rose didnt bet against his team so why would he purposely manage a game to lose.

Shoeless joe was paid to lose the game. Pete Rose was betting that his team that he managed would win. If any crime its being cocky!
