So I got the plans for the day. We meet at the hospitality tent @ noon for a light lunch. All you can drink until 5. :punk: Then Kyle Petty comes by for an hour...dinner at 3:30. I'm just going to take a cooler in and pound brew.

Camping out...do you just toss a tent up behind your car? How does that work? I don't know how on earth I'll get back home that night. :22_yikes:

Depends on where you park. Do you have a parking pass? If so, where is it for?

We have a VIP pass...but I'm not going to use it. If I do, I have to organize the whole group to go together. I thought I'd just pull into a lot and pay...

    Bad idea?

you could be in for quite a hike, lugging your cooler. just be prepared for possible traffic back-ups. you may be ok if you're arriving that early in the day. going home may be a bitch. i used to go buy one of those cheap ass styrofoam coolers and leave it at the speedway once the race was over. i dubbed them "stomp-albes"....freed your hands up for things like flipping people off and eluding law enforcement should the need arrise. its hard to run through a parking lot with a cooler and flip-flops. have fun.

I certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for organizing a whole group!

I'm not sure about just camping for the one night. We used to camp for the whole weekend. We'd go home to shower and get more supplies, and then head back to the track. I would think that if you are going to set up a tent, you'd want to do that before going into the race. Trying to set up a tent hammered at midnight might be tricky. Most of the daily parking lots wouldn't let you set up a tent and there wouldn't be room. I'm not sure how much the camping lots charge for just one night.

I just checked online. Looks like $100 for the camping lot. If we do that, we'll show up around 9-10 and set up the site. I have a TON of killer shit for football tailgating. So does my friend. Think we'll do it.

you can get camping spots for around 40$ off Morehead(turn 1-2)if you are camping in a car and/or tent. a lot of the lots are cheaper if you dont have a camper.
