It would have been hard for Palpatine to hide his true nature if they could sense him as a user of the force.

So basically you're saying they could sense something like "Hey there's a Jedi here, and since Obi-Wan's probably the last, I'm betting it him."??

no Yoda and Mace said in either Episode 1 or 2 that the cloud of the Dark Side had grown so strong that their ability to see clearly had been affected. That's how Palpatine was able to hide himself.

Hey, I am not an expert. It would be logical to think, if you believe the "force" got stronger in the remaining Jedi as there were less of them around. Like radar they would be easier to "feel" in the area. How did Obi feel the large disturbance in the force in the first movie?

I'm not disagreeing, just asking if that's what you meant.

I'm moderator there, so I'd just move it back.

The reason that Obi-Wan quit fighting was because he became a part of the Force and helped Luke in all 3 episodes, especially in the blast that blew up the first death star. Saw an interview with Lucas and that was what he meant. By becoming a part of the force he could not only help Luke by giving him instructions, but he can use his powers to help Luke use the force better.

Just clarifing that I am guessing at all this. If every living thing has a "force" then where does that force go when something dies. Then you have rocks and such that never die and have a force. Interesting concept to ponder.

    Ok that enough pondering.:bananalam
