Dude, they're not going to give the other team the ball on a touchback unless it's fumbled or thrown out of the endzone.

I believe that is what Minter did. The offensive player (turned defensive) knocked the ball out of Minters hands and the ball went out of the endzone (side I believe) and the awarded the ball to the other team on the 20. Can't remember the opponent, thinking the Saints but not sure

He wasn't in the endzone PP. WTF are you talking about. I'm saying he heaves it at the sidline with enough velocity that it goes out of bounds before time expires. Who knows the answer?

its ruled a fumble out of bounds and the last team who held possesion retains the ball at the spot where the ball went out of bounds. time stops the moment the ball hits the out-of-bounds area. the heave must be a type of lateral, not a forward pass- if its a forward pass, there is a penalty and then an automatic 10 second runoff i figure.

Then by your answer he could have heaved it, they would have possession, and they could of kicked a field goal. I should be an NFL coach. They got to think of this type of shit when it's on the line.

I think they would have let the time run out anyway. He would have had to throw the ball in a passing motion to get it out of bounds in time. If he had just lobbed it like a fumble time would have ran out.

    fumble rule

According to NFL.com and Mike Pereira (NFL Senior Director of Officiating) , an intentional fumble out of bounds would result in a 10 second run off because the player is illegally trying to conserve time. Therefore, the answer is no.

    Intentional grounding.
