The last 3 super bowls were won by Warner, Peete, and Brady.

    Them ain't the scramblin' type.

I bet they're all smart enough to get a little yardage if they can.
Note that they all played in very complex offenses. BIllick's is the only one that can be confused for WCO but it's a hybrid.

    Uhh...meat...Peete? Dilfer.

Warner had Marsha, Dilfer had the best defensive team in the NFL and had a knack for not screwing up, Brady a little magic and a pretty damn good defense.

Yep, got to have more than a QB.

We have nothing of mention. Moose, but Moose can't get it done alone.

Which brings me back full circle... this is why we better have a QB that knows what to do out of the pocket. Its a very strong likelyhood such need will exist- every game, especially before Foster returns.

after all, nothing better than a Quarterback who doesn't take advantage of the few weapons we have.

yea, or one that does not know how to get a first down, which moves the chains forward... its kinda like golf. The winner is not always the guy that hits the most fairways or greens in regulation, but can be the guy that puts in the cup with the fewest amount of putts. ;)

Defenses will not give you but so much of that. Pro offenses try to limit that as much as possible. After about 4 or 5 rushes there's a very strong amount of diminishing return. Other than at the goal line, where rollouts are real strong stuff.

I'll agree that mobility is a bonus if your QB is a strong pocket passer. I'll agree that a few first downs a game are nice. That a team can run, run, then scramble for a first down? No. It's not something you can rely on in a regular season game.
