We'll wait and see. I pointed out in another thread that Green Bay's offense got stomped by the Cleveland Defense on monday.

Weinke has been inconsistent. Let's give him a few regular season games - with the first unit running the whole time. Hell - let's even get Foster in there. Remember - MOST of the guys Fasani was palying against won't be in the NFL Sunday.

And, in Weinke's defense - WE HAVE ONE RECEIVER. I think Byrd might should get the start over Smith.

Where the FUCK is WESLEY WALLS?

As far as the draft - I have a feeling we'll have a high pick. I think the draft is stacked with receivers and qb's. At this point, I'd say that receiver and qb are more pressing than CB.

3 passes against the first string with no RUNNING GAME (Smith and Foster out) which means no play action (no one believed they would or could run the ball) is no reason to condemn a guy. Fasani is very interesting, but you must realize he was playing against 3rd string last night. Basically, all last night proved was our 3rd string was much better than theirs'

You are right Meatpile, but I am this close to saying the hell with it and throw Fasani in. If Weinke would get out of his nap and fire this team up a little we may be ok. Fasani does everything, and I about fell outta my chair when he did that damn spin move.

yep..Fasani plays well against a bunch guys that are probably packing their shit and headed to the plant to start their job. Throw him against the first string.

Well, I'm not going to advocate Fasani starting but that's exactly why I wouldn't weep if he does start. Our OL is not getting much push in the running game and we don't have the receivers to scare the local Girl Scouts. Fasani can scramble and run for positive yardage. He can add a huge dimension to our offense that is sorely lacking in talent. Don't see the staff hanging with Weinke for long if he continues to be horrible on the field.

Don't ya know that the ???Sandman is in all his glory at the moment with Weinke sucking and Fasani shining. Where's he hiding his humble ass anyway?

At this point, it looks like we may have a QB so I'd say that OL and WR would be our pressing needs . . . but things change.

Uh, Cube did ya miss that interception Weinke threw or last week's game at NE. This is a very troubling trend. Still hopeful but am very worried at the moment.

And the Panthers will cut people like Nathan Black who led the team in receptions last night. I saw Black make catches that B. Fingers (#87) either watches fly overhead or drops.

The only heart I saw in the whole damn game came from the third string. The first string defense looked good and we had some huge hits. Our offense will kill our defense this year though, with Tweinke throwing them touchdowns or going three and out.

Hell, cut Fasani too. Why would the team not give Fasani a chance to start a preseason game to see how he fares against a first string defense?

Why? Because the current plan is not to start Fasani, the rookie fifth round pick. The plan is to start Weinke. Weinke needs reps *obviously* with his first string team against a first string defense.

Therefore, it makes no sense to start Fasani in the preseason, since the plan is not to start him in the regular season.

Beyond all that, I very concerned about Weinke's ability to even be an average qb. I will repeat that our lack of capable receviers and a run game doesn't help either.

Our offense really sucks. 8 games in, if it still sucks, I wouldn't mind watching Fasani start. At least then we'd know if we need Leftwich.

you'd be willing to go 8 games with Weinke sucking before making a change? i'm thinking about 2 more quarters would be about all i could stand without at least giving Fasani a chance with the big boys ...

Duh... its ALWAYS like that the last preseason game... the Startin O rarely puts it all out on the line last game before reg season... too much chance of getting hurt... and the 3rd string busts their ASSES, because they know there's a DAMN good shot there is no next week... its ALWAYS been like that... 3rd string plays with more heart than most teams in the Superbowl on that last day
