the 35% he talked about was the product failure rate. The normal number is more like 5%. The 360 failure rate is around 33%. However, other studies point to overall design problems that will basically affect every 360 made from launch in 2005 to the middle of 2007. That's why MS came out with the warranty to cover every single xbox with the red ring failure signal.

the newer 360's, made with the zephyr chips make it run a little cooler. The xbox does have better games, and is cheaper, but it also comes with additional frustration.

If you buy an X360, do NOT buy it used, and do NOT buy a model that doesn't have hdmi. Even if your tv doesn't support hdmi, the port signifies at least an extra heat sink is in the unit, if not a slightly improved chipset. Both have reduced Red Rings significantly.

A fanboy is a devotee of a certain manufacturer/tech. I'm not sure that being anti-clear channel qualifies, but thanks for playing.

    Here, let me help:

The term "fanboy" is most commonly associated with adolescent and teen males but can be applicable to any age or sex. It is often used in a derogatory manner by other, less obsessed fans. The term originated in comic book circles to describe someone immersed in the fictional worlds of comics and the culture of comics fandom. Common subjects of reverence by fanboys are specific: TV shows; movies; music; anime; comic books; cars; video game consoles, video games and MMORPGs; and computer operating systems, hardware and software.

Popular depictions of Fanboy stereotypes include the Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons and columnist Larry Groznic from the satirical newspaper The Onion. In the songs of the fannish parody musician Luke Ski, many characters proudly consider themselves fanboys.

    ---

I will pay 20 bucks to the first person that can prove they got through posts 50-70 in the thread below without hearing the Comic Book Guy’s voice. That would be the section right after where HH talks about how much he obsesses over this bullshit.

You may think you aren't a fanboy HH because you are pimping what you like instead of the corporate line, but your endless pimping of your opinion still makes you a fanboy. Giving an opinion about a TV is one thing - spending the weekend arguing about it what fanboys do.

That's fine, of course, but your calling three different people "fanboy" in a little over 24 hours in different threads where you were behaving like the fucking prototype was a bit too much for my internal Thelt-meter to bear.

Based on that definition, you're a fanboy too kshead.

    Definition of: fanboy

A male (or female if a "fangirl") who is completely devoted to a particular work. Fanboys are fiercely loyal and steadfast in their opinion. With regard to computers and technology, fanboys outnumber fangirls by a huge margin and may be enamored with particular computer platforms, MP3 players, cellphones, operating systems, video games or applications.

I wasn't gonna say it, but that's the voice I hear everytime I read your posts.

Oh sure, I have the voice....

I just don't have an endless stack of posts in music, tech and gaming to go with it like you do.

Face it man, you're a fanboy. And again I'll say that's ok - it just disqualifies you from calling anyone else that.

That makes me a tech geek, not a fanboy.

Don't blame everyone who posts in this forum because you finally discovered electricity the day you left WVa.

No, when you act like you did in the thread I posted - and then talk about my supposed lack of hobbies like you did before you erased it - that makes you a fanboy.

My discovering of electricity - wow, a WV joke, how lame can you get - doesn't make that any less true. It's like you are out to prove the Wiki definition.

    We have a 360, wii and PS3.

2 weeks after getting a PS3, my roommate said he really regrets it. Says it was one of the biggest wastes of money he's ever gotten.

    360 rules.
