Defense is not near as good. Obviously, they never saw it coming.

I started a season. Cut Byrd, L.Smith, Weinke, and Fasani. Signed FA's M.Westbrook, Ricky Watters, Willie Jackson, Antonio Freeman, Jeff George and Eric Zeier. Peete is 3rd string. I still lost. The play book really isn't as fun as the other teams. Less out routes, screens, and slants. Not many deep routes either. Everytime I run the sweep or draw play, I get crushed behind the line. My best target, Walls down deep over the middle, plus he breaks tackles. Moose dropped a couple. George throws the ball a lot harder than Peete.

And get this, first play from scrimmage, Foster gets a stress fracture in his ankle and is out for the season. Guess they DID see THAT coming!

yeah- for xbox madden2k3 is pretty off with the panthers defense. they make peppers a shell of what he really is- they're horrible against the run and the pass and dont put great pressure on the qb- however, mark fields and dan morgan are animals. foster is a pretty good rb for me. i just finished my 1st season 6-10, and now i'm in my second at 2-1- peete retired so i drafted a rookie qb, smith retired so foster is #1, and i drafted 2 wr, RG, CB, DT and LB. defense is remarkably better.

What kills me is the Panthers D just bounces off the runners, missing 5 and 6 tackles in a single play.

Peppers had a couple of sacks though. And Smith about broke a KR. He did fumble a punt. The very first time I turned the game on, Smith fumbled the kick-off.

Yep, that's fer sure. Willie Jackson out of the slot gets deep though. He's faster than Byrd too, and Freeman is certainly a better option than Jeffers (oh yea, I cut him too) to start the season.

dude if you have the PS2 simply get the ineternet hook up and it will automatically update your roster to reflect a more realistic team ability... for instance Peppers is a better player after the update... so is Rodney Peete

No shit? That's fucking cool. I've been asking about the internet hook-up if anybody had it. Now I reall can't wait fot the draft. Will it work with dial-up (actually I have AOL still) or do I need to go ahead and get the RR/DSL? Earthlink/RR has a pretty good deal.

And how is like playing over the net? Can you just play anybody or do you have to know someone that will play too?

I got the NFL Fever 2k3 for xbox, and no matter what I do, Fred Vinson turns out to be a stud at CB. Wonder if they know something there that I don't?
