I'll admit, I am partially jealous in the fact that the Dodgers haven't made the post season as much as the Braves. In fact, it must be nice to see your team there every year. But, I would rather my team not make the playoffs, than to make the playoffs every year, and fall flat on their faces every year. That sucks, thats dissapointment to the fullest. However, I am a Dodgers fan and a Carolina fan so its obvious I love my teams for our past accomplishments. Both Carolina and the Dodgers have a strong past for which I am proud of. I could be a typical band wagon jumper and be a Braves fan b/c they win, or pull for Duke b/c they win. But I stay with my teams. Everyone knows I like the Redskins first, (they haven't shown anything lately, they suck) I am a Panthers fan 2nd. After that, I am a Hurricanes fan, they sucked last year, but who knows what next year brings if anything. I am a Tarheels fan, a Dodgers fan, a Bats fan, a Jeff Gordon fan, a Eastern Guilford High School fan, a Salem College fan, (my girlfriends college :) ). Basically, if you look at who I am a fan of, its the past that I can be proud of. Sure, our present and recent past may have sucked. But everyone knows, history does repeat itself, so who knows what the future may bring. I have just always said, in my opinion, and in common sense, if you can't win the World Series but once in 12 years, thats choking. The Dodgers not making the playoffs in a long time, thats just terrible play. There is a difference. I dont think I would be upset about choking though. Can't really help that. But year after year of bad play, thats embarassing and inexcusable for a team like the Dodgers with our history.

quality post there. i guess some of us just have a different definition for choking.

we're not all bandwagon fans. dale murphy was my idol growing up. i've never been a fan of another baseball team. well, the red sox, but that just evolved over the last 10 years or so out of my hate for the yankees.

i remember when the braves were the laughing stock of the league. for years. that sucked. the last 12 years have been kickass.

jeff gordon gets a bad wrap.

of course one reason I don't care much for the braves, is because I've ALWAYS been a dodgers fan, and they both use to be in the west. But what made me dislike them even more was, once they started winning, Braves fans just started coming out of the woodwork. When they were losing, only one here or there could be found. But once they started winning, I got Braves fan clostrophopia(sp?), cause they were EVERYWHERE! lol....I'll be the first to admit that all of their accomplishments are pretty dang good. It's just the fan thing that makes me despise them so much. Otherwise, I do wish the Dodgers had been in the playoffs as much lately, heck, even half as much woulda been good... :laugh1:

i can't argue we have had lots of bandwagon fans. those assholes piss us true fans off as much as you guys (fans of other teams).

I have never made any bones about how I feel about Bobby Cox. He, up until this year was an inept manager who simply ran out some of the best players money could buy. That on top he was a wife beater. Mazzone should get the majority of the credit for the Braves success. Now this years Braves have warrented Cox to get some serious consideration as manager of the year. i have absolutely nothing against the Braves but seriously Braves fans if the Braves weren't your favorite team, based upon all the talent they have had and to have only win 1 championship in 12+ years? Tell me you can't call it choking.
