watched it last night, set tivo to record them.

director is weird, but talented -- not much of a leader and fairly depressing. kinda creepy, actually.

the script apparently sucks butt, but the studio chose it.

matt and ben lobbied hard for the "home run or strikeout" director.

    should be good.

Any idea when is this replayed? I caught a bit, looked good. I thought Damon and Affleck were the ones picking the script, did they pick the director instead?

I thought they let the writer direct the movie.

Yeah, now I think I remember that being the case in the 1st season I had seen. Who picked the writer/director though if they were all unhappy with the script?

I've seen them both. The first one. "somehingoranother Summer" was just bad. A couple of cool scenes but overall bad. "Battle of Shaker Heights" had potential cause the Shia Lebeouf kid or whatever his name is is a heckuva actor. It just felt like a bunch of scenes stitched together. Both are worth watching for free on late night cable just for the trainwreck factor.

I'm just thankful we aren't having another "coming of age" movie this season. Last good one was "Stand by Me."

they supposedly picked the script and director as a group, but it was clear that the studio wanted a certain script because they felt they could sell it. they said, they wanted a project greenlight movie to actually make money. ben and matt said that they didn't get into this project to make movies that wold make money, they got in to tell stories and stay true to the films -- like a good indie. so, they lobbied hard for the director who had some artistic qualities -- not coincidentally, the guy the studio thinks is a flakejob.

ben summed it up well, saying that if nothign else the TV season of project greenlight will be a true representation of the battles between studio/script.

matt was really good last night. he earned some cool points.

I feel bad for that director, doesn't seem to have what it takes personality wise for the buisness. Cracks me up he's trying to stick 5 friends/relatives in the movie
