The church does not want to offer them communion. Sounds fair to me since you can not be a catholic who is worthy of communion if you are pro choice.

I would have to question my membership in a religion that I disagreed with on such a fundamental level. I don't think that dont ask dont tell is workable. Certainly the church has no way to know how you vote but why be a member if you disagree with them so much.

I think the logical step is to either reconsider your views on the subject or reconsider your membership in the church. Either you are wrong or the church is......

It's why I left Southern Baptist doctrine, and eventually religion itself.

Because dogma is dogma, and the catholic church is a very large society at the moment controlled by conservatives. Why don't you leave the country seeings how you disagree with most governing mandates regarding school, harassment in the workplace and generally anything roosevelt. I mean those are pretty fundimental differences, maybe you would be happier in Iran, that society is closer to your vision of an ideal world.

Changing your country is a lot harder than choosing to either participate or not in a certain religion.

I applaud you for being honest with yourself Builder. Too many people want it both ways. If you are not a catholic do not call yourself one. John Kerry should announce that he is not a catholic any more.
