Well I'm happy Peppers (or anyone) made the ProBowl,,, I do agree that Beason deserved it,,, also Thomas Davis was having a ProBowl year prior to his injury.

If the Panthers (JR in particular) is worried about saving money (in 2010) in fear of a lockout in 2011, I do hope we let Peppers go this offseason. We can get 2-3 defensive players for 20mil next season, and while none of them may be ProBowl caliber, I'd settle for 2-3 more who will just give 110% every Sunday like Beason & Davis.

Your example of guys that try hard but aren't pro bowlers is two people you think should be in the pro bowl?

No Presidence, guess I used a poor choice (or arrangement) of words. Of course I'd take 2-3 more Beasons or Davis's, who would'n't. Was trying to say I'm ready to spend that 20mil next year on 2-3 more "anybodys", as long as they give effort each and every Sunday.

if there is no cap, then that means that there are like 3 different tags teams can place on guys, many UFAs will be RFAs and there won't be as many free agents as we think. Other than guys that will be cut to safe salary cap room, I think it's going to be slim pickings.

And with only a handful of draft picks (right now), how is this team going to upgrade?

I look for us to have a helluva draft this summer,,,,,,, afterall Fox has traded picks the last 2 drafts thinking his head was on the chopping block and trying to "win now". Don't you know with Fox knowing he is now going into the final year of his contract and he hasn't been extended, he will trade any and all future draft picks in an attempt to win in 2010.

Not saying its a bad idea either, but look for it to happen, esp when the final decision is made to let Peppers go.

no. there are two tags. A franchise or transition that you already have, and then a second tag which is only a transition tag.

We really don't need the second one. The other players who would be FA become RFAs, of the useful ones.

Fox doesn't have the power to do that.

not every thread is required to become a "here's my laundry list of things I'd do" thread
