They're certain to at least be ranked in everyone's preseason top 15, but there are more holes on the 2005 Seminoles than a golf course. Even with all the issues, this could still be considered an underrated team in many ways. For some reason, Leon Washington isn't getting his just due as one of the nation's best running backs. There's million dollar talent from recent recruiting classes sure to keep the Noles in the ACC title hunt for years to come looking like a preseason top three team for 2007. This is probably the third best team in the ACC behind Coastal Divisioners Miami and Virginia Tech, but it's still not a lock to win the new Atlantic Division.

Relative strength: Linebacker Relative Weakness: Quarterback

Star of the team: LB Ernie Sims, Jr. Key game: Sept. 17th at Boston College

I wish they would do polls this early. On the other hand, I'm a sucker for anything ranked.

LSU and Tennessee are overrated. People forget that LSU lost it's most important part of the team in Coach Nick Saban. Watch for us (Georgia) to surprise people. I believe we are ranked #14 or #13 in the polls right now and if we beat Boise State to start off the year we have a real good chance to go 7-0 to start off the year.

Way too many ifs for my liking...

    38. N.C. State
The defense should be stellar again led by one of the nation's best front four, while the back seven has enough speed to cover up for inexperienced mistakes. So it all comes back to the offense and it all starts up front. Just about everyone on the offensive line missed time last year meaning there wasn't any continuity and no pass protection whatsoever. QB Jay Davis had to hurry, and he made mistakes. The line should be much better with just about everyone back and healthy, so now it's up to Davis to come through with a big year to make the average receiving corps shine. If the offense is more productive and doesn't screw up like it did last year, and the loss of offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone and defensive coordinator Reggie Herring doesn't hurt, NC State will be a player in the ACC race. Otherwise, it'll be another wasted year with a national title-caliber defense.

I think receiver will be stronger than most expect for State. Still comes down to the OL for me.
