Claussen throws a much faster/harder pass. I think that may have accounted for a couple of the incompletions since he hasn't had much work with starters. Ball just seemed to rocket in and they couldn't tuck it in being used to Moore's arching lobs.

    Speaking of tackling

Godfrey and Martin had only one tackle today after 12 last week. Sounds bad for safeties. Derek Landri had seven. By the way, Peppers didn't appear in the Bears' boxscore. He has one tackle so far.

I won't for a second "bash" Moore, because he was put in some horrible spots since 2007, and always answered the bell. I just don't know if he's talented enough to carry a team that will always be facing 9-man fronts. In fact, after two weeks, I kinda know it.

Clausen is a threat, with the arm. He threw one incompletion to 89 on the final drive, down the near sideline, and it was early. But the ball was perfectly placed and had a nice zip to it.

I didn't see enough from any of the two in the preseason to tell me "hey, he won the job". But Moore did little to win it.

Again, I was just hoping, overall, this team would come out from week one and eliminate (1) turnovers and (2) unforced errors. We have been, likely, one of the most penalized teams, thus far, and I'd be curious to see how we stand in the t/o ratio department.

Jesus, Coach, just stop fucking up so much.

Somehow we have managed to break Moore. He is gun-shy and holding the ball. Jarrett was wide open on a third down and Moore passed him over to stare down Smitty. Whoever our QB is they have to take what the defense gives them. The opportunities are there, even with the shitty line play. And Davidson should be fired this week, what a joke.

yeah Moore looks like a different QB than last year. he is throwing into multiple coverage on what seems like a regular basis. our WR's arent getting open either though, other than Smith. and when they did today, there were multiple drops.

the playcalling is terrible, they are playing not to lose instead of to win, and everyone is tentative and scared to make a mistake as a result.

with all the shit we are seeing on the offensive side of the ball, i cant see how someone isnt held accountable this week. maybe Moore is the fall guy though.

I've had a problem with not getting at least a decent QB in here since Moore last year. I was never impressed with him. He's good at running a play the way it's drawn up but if his first receiver is covered or he has to improvise at all, he terrible.

Clausen at least gives up a chance. I think other teams have been laughing at our passing game with Moore since the preseason. I think that complete lack of a passing threat is our number one problem. It causes opposing defenses to settle in on stopping the run, putting more men in the box and make us completely predictable.

I think Jimmy will be just enough of a threat through the air to compliment out run game. You get that going and all of a sudden we don't have a protection OL or protection problems any more. I think people will also be surprised at our WR's suddenly catching more passes. It won't be anything more than a half way decent QB finding the WR's that are open and from my eyes there have been a lot of them that Moore has missed.

I'm actually really excited about the rest of the season. I'm not ready to say we're going to make the playoff because I think we'll see Jimmy make quite a few mistakes that Rookies are prone to do but we'll also wonder why the hell he wasn't out there from day 1.

I absolutely can't say changing qb's will fix this wreck or that Claussen will be any better then Moore. We've got more problems then the QB.

That's been a problem in the preseason. They couldn't catch those missiles he was throwing.

I admire your optimism. We've been beaten badly by two teams that probably won't make the playoffs. I really can't find any silver lining right now, other than the fact that it's football season.

Ditto. Or else we'd be able to get into the endzone from the 1. We've had two great rushers and now they can't get 100 yds combined.

On the upside, I think we looked better than last week.
