This was a heart breaker. The margin between victory and defeat is razor thin for this team and when you take out a key player like Moose we are killed. I had serious reservations about this gam as we were favorites. Our offence is so limited even when healthy. Turnovers will just kill this team and we had a basket this week as well. Rucker played outstanding again. Some one tell me why dis we play prevent defence when we had the lead in the 4th? Our DB's were a solid 10 yards off the ball and the Cardinals as imept as they are went right down the field and scored. The officiating was attrocious (sp). Why can't Dan Henning ever look for Wesley Walls? Steve Smith is no primary WR and it showed today. His kickoff returns have suffered due to his involvement in offence. Rodney Peete had another sub decent game. Granted receivers were dropping some catchable balls but lots of his passes were either too long or behind the receivers. Frustrating loss. Next weeks game is a must win if you ask me. We go 3-3 with the schedule we have upcoming and a 500 record is long gone. Frustrated season ticket holder

    What he said.

    Goddamnit.

We should have won this game. just like the last. At least Graham redeemed himself, sort of.

I was there. The fans were great this game, the wave was going, the loudest crowd I've heard in a while.

But basically, like meatpile said, our offense sucks. No matter what our defense does, we are gonna have to score more than 1 touchdown to win games. And if we lose next week at Dallas, we suck.

    Goddamnit.

I'm not even so concerned about scoring, but of running this offense effectively. The Offensive mantra has been 'no penalties, no sacks, no turnovers.' Well, we had four tunrovers. We can't be effective in this offense if we turn the ball over, and that's what happened the last 2 weeks.

I'm all for low score and ball control. I'm not all for -3 on the turnover battle. That's why we lost.

The Officials did not help us either. And again we came up way short on 3rd down conversions.

We drafted a RB in the 2nd round for a reason, and that reason was more obvious today.

Lamar just doen't seem to have the pop he had in the first three games. I don't know if he's still cramping and hurting playing in Detriot.

    Byrd stepped it up.

SS looked like he could really becomes force at WR. Moose has got to be wanting back in the game after seeing his perfomance. He'll draw attention off Moose.

Hard to win giving up points on turn-overs, especially win the offense plays "not to lose"

We can play with any team in the league, but we can't dominate anybody.

I diidn't realize teams can now travel with they're own referees. This game should be reviewed. I know there's a crying towel and all that, but damn, I know how Pittsburgh must feel. There was some really bad calls, and no calls, and phantom calls. None of which seem to work to our advantage.

Fox once again though shows why he's the HC. and why he kept Graham. I'm just realived about that situation all together.

And last, how great is it that the front 4 gets pressure? Can you imagine how ugly it could get in the secondary if we couldn't?

Peete is still our best option, I think this may have been his first 4th quarter turnover. I missed last weeks game. Again, proof how important it is for a QB to not turn the ball over in the 4th. I don't care what he does quarters 1-3, (IF) you are in the game when the 4th comes it does not matter how many yards he threw for in qtrs 1-3.

Lamar is solid and doing a fine job. The fumbles today hurt. Getting our rookie back in the mix could fix any and all running game issues that surfaced today.

Defense is still very solid, tops in the NFL, nuff said. I have faith that this years coaching staff will make adjustments.

Yes we do hurt at WR. A few drops, one by Walls, right in the bread basket.

Overall, yes we are limited with our offensive threats. I don't see that changing unless Foster comes out storming. Getting the ball to Walls is not the answer. A few weeks ago, I believe it was Mangum showed he too could make a few good catches.

With Dallas and Atlanta (If Vick is still hurt) I don't see us being underdogs. So yea, we could easily be 5-2 or 4-3.

I'll take anyone's tickets that is disgruntled and tired of going to the games. We have a good football team here!

...and this is the kind of talk i figured would start to happen. a few jumped all over what i said, calling me a pessimist and a nonfan among other things. but anyway...

we will win one more game this year at least as we have the bungles on the second half schedule i believe. i still see 0-6 in the division though. i don't know how anyone can realistically see this team producing more than 5 wins or so. we desperately need some offensive help, as has been evident since game one...most glaringly, we need a quaterback. we cannot go with a stopgap solution (peete) and the reserves either aren't good enough or aren't ready. if the defense doesn't fall apart, we're a year or two away from having a breakout season. i can't wait for that time to come.

    go panthers.

Weapons plain and simple WE NEED THEM!!!

Some one tell me something. There was a pass play when our WR either was tackled, tripped or whatever and from where I saw he was definately interferred with deep in their territory. We later scored but did I miss it (it was on opposite end of field). The officiating was strange to say the least

yeah paul that was a horseshit no call .

they said it was uncatchable but Byrd was in full stride and without the bump he could have laid out and caught that for a touchdown
