Peppers was always expected to be the greatest DE to ever play the game. I do not think anyone has that kind of expectations for MKG.

If the Bobcats sign a decent big man in free agency they can be a lot better next season. I am not sure they want to be a lot better though.

It's true. Peppers busted his ass in training camp and practices, plus he always chased plays while Buckner jogged or walked his fat ass down the field.

People thought Peppers took plays off because at times he would disappear. The assumption was that a guy with his ability should make at least one big play in every game but he would go for stretches of several games and do very little. When he did that people thought it was because he was not giving a good effort. He also rarely spoke to the press and never showed a lot of passion when he did.

primary, sure, but not the only driver. would you rather play for a winner for $8 mil or play for a loser for the same $8 mil?

the nba today doesn't seem to have a lot of guys who want to shine on their own so much. they seem to want to team up with other talented players to win rings. nobody aspires to be karl malone, they want to be like mike.

cap space does't mean shit for getting an extension. you can go over the cap to re-sign your own player.

jordan hasn't been "air jordan" since 98. that's going on 15 years. mkg was like 4 or 5 when jordan retired from the bulls. i think jordan the crappy executive is the jordan these guys are more familiar with.

i guess i was trying to be too cute. "like mike" simply meaning they want the rings. i suppose kobe would have served as well, but i wanted to use the "like mike" line.

I would think most superstars would want to be the man on the team not just another cog in a wheel. Jordan needed Pippen and to a lesser extent Grant and later Rodman but no one ever doubted who the best player on that team was.

That is what is strange about Lebron. Miami is not Lebron's team that he led to a ring it is an all star team that he was a part of.
