I think it's like what Gotta said, if the dude puts forth the effort with producing at good starter level production or better the city will embrace him and the team. With that being said, I don't know how long it will take for his production level to be where you would want it. I knew he was young but didn't realize he was this young. He could still possibly grow a little more.

I'll say it again if we could get Humphries for a reasonable price I'd do it. We need rebounding help getting rebounds as I expect a lot of missed shots

the only way we get anybody of note is to severely overpay, and we know how well that goes over with the folks on this board.

quite simply, all things being equal, where would you want to sign as a free agent? i doubt charlotte is high on the list.

the bobcats haven't landed a single a-list free agent. it's been nbdl type players, hasbeens who have a couple years left to earn money, a journeyman or two who can't stick on other teams, and shaun livingston who joined the bobcats after rehabbing his exploded knees.

after the embarrassment of last season, how on earth would people suddenly look at the bobcats as a place to be?

Money is the primary driver in where most free agents sign. We have the cap space to make a nice offer to someone we think is worth it. Apart from money I can think of a few reasons a guy might come here. First off there is not much talent here so whoever comes here is going to get lots of opportunity to put up great numbers. A guy could bet the first option here rather than a third or fourth option on a good team. Another reason might be that the team does not have a lot of its cap committed long term. If you come here and make an impact you have a really good shot at a nice long term deal. MJ probably still holds some allure to these guys as well.

The great irony is that Peppers was actually the hardest working player on the team. That's a measure of how stupid the average sports fan really is.
