I started this same thread a month or two ago, but a lot of new people have joined since then, so I figured I would start it up again. And besides, no one is on here talking hoops, so mayeb this wil get things going. Anyways, here is what I think the starting lineup will/should look like for the opening game...

    g - demon brown
    g - brendan plavich
    f - eddie basden
    f - curtis withers
    c - martin iti

i think that would work. neither plavich or brown are a true PG, so i guess baldwin or bennett could step in if it is clear that the team is in need of a solid point guard

I think thats pretty much how it'll look...although maybe Grier in for Basden. They'll both get minutes, and I doubt if Basden really cares if he starts or not as long as he gets some minutes (ultimate team player)...

I dont think Baldwin or Bennett are 'true' point guards either, but at least we have some depth there...The question will be how solid our depth is inside, how good plavich and iti really are, whether Demon can share the scoring load, and how much Withers has improved (I personally think Withers is the key to our team-our only proven versatile scorer).

Iron you just saved me some typing because I agree with EVERYTHING you said.

I will add that who starts means little to me, as long as the best players get the majority of minutes.

I agree that Grier should start in the 3-hole. He's too athletic to sit. Basden and Grier will both see 20+ minutes per night.

Grier should get at least 25. He makes things happen when he's on the court.

I think the small forward spot is a tossup.

I will say that I think Curtis Withers will be first team CUSA and our Mvp. I look for him to get 15pts, and 8 rebs a game. I love his demeanor.

I say Grier could be the man. Lots of talent, lots of room to grow and improve. He could be starting by the end of the season.

Vincent has Eddie beat on defense, also. I see Badsen and Clemmons being left out in the cold this season, unless Pigford and Spooner are horrible, and I mean with a capital H.
