I'm not sure which my son has, or where he got it from. I have looked online for "all the best treatments", but alas it's trial and error. Does anyone know of anything that works? OTC maybe..

calamine lotion. They make the clear kind now so he won't have pink blobs all over.

When he takes a shower tell him to run hot water - as hot as he can stand it (gradually increasing the temp is a good way to get it really hot). It will itch like crazy for a second or two, but if he doesn't scrath it it won't itch anymore after he gets out of the shower.

This is to draw out the toxins? Or to soothe the scratching? As crazy as it sounds, I have never dealt with this before. Thanks VP, I'll give it a go, or rather he will.

It just helps with the itching. Works on mosquito bites too.

I tried this tactic with a clothes iron, good and hot mind you.

The itching did stop, I'll give you that.

He took the shower, though imagine being a 13 year old boy and having to discuss "the area".
