But it seem like Reznor was saying "Damn it sucks that the OL is run and pass blocking better". If we can get out of this without having to spend high picks and big bucks on linemen I'm all for it. I want them to come around and play better so we can get some skill players.

our o-line has been the only real consistant part of this team and they have only had the same 5 guys starting a couple times.

Yep root for Seattle to beat DAllas on MNF. That's big all around for us.

    On the oline -

Without a doubt they played better, but I agree we need improvement there. If anything, at least solid depth at RT that's equal to Fordham in skill, and can challenge in the real sense and not 'compete for the spot' in the presser sense.

Guard is strange - it's like RB. I'd say Brez should go. Do we give up on Bruce Nelson? That's a big unknown, how to deal with. How's Reyes been improving? Wharton is learning every game - he may come out as a solid starter for the future.

4 sacks on Delhomme Sunday. We ran well, but Delhomme got smacked.

Maybe I'll stare at Casey Cramer some more.

we all are. What Rez is saying, and I agree, is that we don't want to see them waste away good backs and QBs on ten cheap guards rather than at least one good one. We can't really afford to waste the first eight games of the season.

We still need a good right tackle. We are max protecting a lot, lots of chips and TE in blocking.

We were not doing this earlier in the year. We kept trying to feed the ball to Gaines.

So maybe we do want to use the TE, we just can't. He wasn't that good making plays on the ball, and Jake was getting beat up. Kill two birds, let them block.

How much money and how high of a pick were spent on Brez/Nelson? We could have had someone decent for that money...

Would you rather sit back and max protect because your line sucks, or leak a back or TE out into the flat? Just like you want improvement on defense, I don't want to be complacent at O-line because a handful of scrubs suddenly gelled and got "coached up" by a miracle worker. The difference imo, is Wharton at guard. We have god knows how much tied up in Brez, and he's a fat piece of shit even when healthy. So your comparison is moot, we still have high picks and a ton of cash tied up in jack and squat. At least get a player out of that money.

Even though the sack totals are down, Jake has been hit a TON, and I can't explain the sudden running game, but Cramer and balanced play-calling have as much to do with it as the O-line, I'd wager.

#69 pulling to the left, and Cramer taking out 2 guys on a 50+ yard run doesn't mean our O-line is all that.

Exactly, the problem deosn't seem to be in the effort to get players it is in the scouting. If those players are what they should have been we would be in great shape. I see it as a result of bad luck and/or bad scouting.

either way, we need to upgrade, and just going from what you've stated, you'd rather just stick with what we have since it's "working." You can't have it both ways...
