I agree with him. Deuce has run all over us, and we're playing in their Dome.

Plus, juju. We knocked them outta the playoffs in 2002 season ender.

    OOOOOOO GODDDDAM. FOOTBALL BITCHES!

We beat them twice last year, and the game before that. I don't think we're that good a team, but think they're worse. It's not like we should be favored by 2 TD, but I don't think it's an upset, much less a big one, if we win

    Muffle the horn

If memory serves correctly -- and sometimes mine doesn't -- Joe Horn always seems to come up with a clutch catch or two or half-dozen against the Panthers. Since he now leads the NFC in catches, it would be wise to assume he is an integral part of Sunday's plan for the Saints. I am certain the Panthers are totally aware, but doing something about it always seems to escape them

Oh, incidentally, one of my favorite moments is from last year when first Minter KO'd Deuce, then on the next play (4th down) Julius knocked the ball loose and Jenkins recovered. Sweet memory.

Guard play I think is improving a lot. Wharton has played much much better these last two games and they're starting to use him to pull. And he's starting to get some push in the run game. Reyes hasn't been getting beat but I haven't watched to see if he's getting help. Last game I think 2-3 sacks were coverage sacks. Fordham got beat once. I tend to agree with the thinking that guard won't be a huge priority in the draft and we can gamble on getting a player we can develop in a lower round. RT is a priority. Not sure why we should look to get one in FA as opposed to the draft. I think I would rather see us use a first day pick and get a real good young player that will be with us a while ... but will defer an opinion until I hear argument for a FA.

At the ever changing moment I see our most critical needs as FS, LB, RT. If we pick in the top 15, I'd like to see us get a RB, WR or DT with the 1st pick and then solve our critical needs with picks 2-4. Then address RB and OL depth. Otherwise, I'd hope we start solving our critical needs with our first pick and gamble on Davis/Foster/Carter and hope they can resign Moose for a reasonable deal.

They just put us at the top of the maybe playoffs food chain on PTI, lol. Talk about bandwagon

As to the OL, yes they're better than they were a few weeks ago but we still can't run to the right side. We need to be able to do that to have a shot at good. We need a proven, healthy RT in a bad way.

Absolutely. We get a TE who can block and run patterns and catch, we'll throw to him.

It’s pretty simple and clear I thought . . . likely being the lowest seed we would play the division winner with the best record (not receiving the 1st rd bye) and that should be either philly or atlanta. Philly pounded us 30-8 earlier in the year. Maybe we’ve gotten better since then . . . well so have they. And even loaded and relatively healthy we haven’t been able to figure out how to beat Vicklanta. Yeah, a vital cog like Vick might go down but WE might also lose someone just as important to us by then too.

That’s more “whacked” by far than anything I said. I brought up a realistic concern based on some logical conclusions. Where is the logic in the above? The games we have won and the five remaining games (aside from atlanta) are not exactly the pats eagles and steelers of the league. Actually atlanta does not hang with those three either IMO. The only good team that they beat was denver . . . they eeked out a 1 point win vs the chargers right before the bolts got on track.

Right now it really looks like we probably won’t have to win out. I think we can beat all the bad teams and lose to atlanta on Dec 18 and still make the playoffs at 8-8. I don’t think I’m alone on that one either. So beating the bottom third of the league does not mean we are a very fucking good football team.

I simply do not believe that there is enough sheer talent left on our roster to hang with the top teams in the league right now. HEART… Hell yes. TALENT … Nope. I love these guys and the effort they are putting forth, but I’m not going to homer it up because our team is finally beating the bad teams.

Let's wait until we are still on a winning streak after that Saturday night game in the GA dome. Then maybe I will start seeing things your way.

if the defense continues to improve and builds some confidence, i think we may be able to hang with anybody. i only saw goings miss 1 or 2 holes last week. the guy is really surprising me. if he continues to improve and we can stay on the field a little longer it will help the d a lot. i'm really just thanking my lucky stars that the season is interesting. i'm also very impressed to have heard the players still echoing fox in the media when 1-7. add to that no one besides cooper has gotten in trouble during our rocky start and i think that shows we are still a team who believes in eachother and our coach. while we may not have the talent to compete in the play-offs or even make them, i'm taking some solace in the fact that it looks like the team has a coach they believe in and must have some decent veteran leadership.
