I posted this at the other board, but got no real response...

I saw Plavich out at a bar this weekend and talked to him...he is PUMPED about this season. He said not to be surprised to see Spooner in the starting lineup...he is a beast! He said he came to Charlotte b/c he wanted to play up-tempo, run and gun. He also said Withers has been in the weight room and looks totally different. He was so excited about the workouts, said we should expect a totally different experience than last year when going to games.

On a sidenote...he's not very tall at all...I'd say strugging to get to 6' and not an inch over. Not a big deal for a PG, I don't think...besides, his calves are enormous so I'm guessing he can get up.

it is good to hear that Spooner looks better than advertised. He seems like a real wildcard because of his very average stats, but if Huggs wanted him at Cincy, he must be at least OK. I just want him to grab 5 or 6 boards a night, alter some shots, and play good D.

Withers gaining some weight is also good to hear. It is not easy for guys his size, to just add muscle. I still think he is another Demarco in the making.

    Welcome, bobblin.

If Spooner is a bad mutha, will Withers get time at the three? I think he is quick enough, and Curtis would have a heigth advantage most times out.

Spooner should get significant minutes at the 4 and 5. Between Iti and Spooner we are going to alter some shots and intimidate some people this year.

Can we schedule ULL at Halton again this year? I've love for Iti to dominate their pothead center Southall and beat their ass by 30.

If the other team goes tall, I think Withers can D the 3. My problem with this scenario is miutes. With Withers at the 3 where does Vincent's minutes come from? Don't forget you already have a whole shit load of people logging minutes at the 1 and 2 and Coach seems to like Eddie at the 3. I just can't find any minutes for Withers at the 3.

I agree barry. Grier's minutes are a concern. He has too much talent to not get playing time. I just wonder how much playing time will be enough. Only Grier knows. The log jam at the 3 made me wonder about recruiting E.J. Drayton so hard. If he is a juco and only gets 2 years then you have Grier, Basden, and Drayton all wanting time at the 3. Good problem to have if it all works out.
