I guess it is official also that he will be the point guard. Good, Demon after last season was a waaay bigger asset coming off of screens and chucking it up. I think JObey should have played point in 2002.

The coaching staff must really have a lot of confidence in Plav. He's never played a game & is already the co-captain. Now, the one team I can't wait to beat AGAIN is memphis state.

I'm happy for Plavich but this tells me the coaches don't have much confidence in Demon's leadership abilities. Let's face it, for Plav to get the nod when he hasn't played in one game, doesn't speak well for Demon and Basden.

great point. I hope this motivates some of the upper classmen to act like men and lead this team.

I think Badsen bricking layups is what doesn't speak well for Badsen. I have a bad feeling he's catching the Curtis Nash disease of getting worse. I was impressed with Eddie a lot more his freshman year.

The problem with Basden is that he has gone from a freshman that playes decent defense, rebounds and cant shoot to a junior that plays decent defense, rebounds and cant shoot.

In other words he hasnt progressed and the bottom line is if you cant shoot by the time you are 21 you just cant shoot. I would love to see Grier get the majory of his minutes because, although he struggles with his shot as well, he is a natural scorer.

No, I mean decent. His defensive abilities are way over rated. He is a very good team defender but a poor on-the-ball defender. He is the king of the reach-around, ole' defense and I dont know how many times per game our guards pick up personals sliding to help him after he gets burned on the perimeter.

Anyone who tells me that Basden was a brilliant defender last season loses all basketball credibility with me.

Remember, "defensive specialist" is usually coach talk for "nice athlete with no offensive skills".
