    You are right.

I am sorry if anyone was hurt by my comments. They were not intended to hurt or cause anyone harm. My intent was not to imply anyone is unfunny. i am a strong supporter of Sackem's idea. Thank you.

I thought it was funny on many levels. The Panthers are obvious and deliberate too :D

We need him, and its good value.

Our DL tired in many games, and it really cost us. Particularly the DEs. Pittman was a very good player for us. Maybe close to Wallace's production (only it didn't last long, obviously). You need 8 quality DL if you're going to rely on your D to win games.

As to the point that we need secondary, so why sign more DL, if we had a secondary player of Pittman's quality at Pittman's price, we would sign him very quickly.

This discussion has happened every year. One week into FA we say wer are in deep trouble. Just about every year, it turns out that the 1st week's moves are a small percentage of what happens. Not time to panic yet.

I don't know that we will cover our holes. I have questions about the Meadows signing too. But it really is too early to to know what will happen. There are more players out there, and there is more room on our roster, and under our cap.

We have cap room for many minimum contracts. They may not even count in the top 51 used in the offseason cap.

He's old and coming off a knee injury, you don't think there might have been better value in the late draft rounds?

No. He was a quality player. He was applying big time pressure, and playing well against the run. We may have won 2 or 3 more games with him, possibly including the Super Bowl, when the DL got gassed. He probably counts 400,000 against the cap. He was MUCH better than #97, who's name I'm blocked on. That 400,000 won't even count during the offseason. If a 7th rounder beats him out, then cut him.

I don't buy the "DL gets tired" argument. We play poor offense, then rely on the D to make all the rush because we don't have corners? Well that got about five times worse without a guy who can cover man at FS.

As for min. contracts, I think you're smart enough to know that a vet $660k contract would be amongst the top 51 salaries.

Don't buy it about Pittman, there's no possible way we could have won 2 or 3 more games just because of him...you're reaching big-time, just like we're going to do in the draft.

Not if its one of the ones that only count 450,000 against the cap. A one year deal with a signing bonus of not over 25,000 and no incentives does that. We had several like that last year.
