IMO, Meadows got too much money to be penciled in as guard, but you never know.

Yeah, but in another thread we kinda 'determined' that it doesn't make much sense to cut Steusiie now, or even after June 1.

Still - it doesn;t seem like we 'improved'. Only 'improvement' I see is linebacker depth. Armstead over Favors.

But is Meadows better than James? If so, that's a great move. Nelson better than Donnalley? That's pushing it.

I'm hopeful that improvement will be at TE, too. But Nelson at G is being plugged in expectedly, and I can handle that. I know he'll suck for a while.
Meadows should be better than James. Damn well better be, for $3 mil.

But problem is, by my estimate, Meadows next year at OT means we need, guess what, a guard. And with Adam himself not young...
And with Mitchell 32 by that time, Nelson becomes, you guessed it, a center. Which means we need a guard.

    My mind just hung itself.

Sounds to me like you just made a case for drafting offensive lineman with our 1st two picks next month!! You made the case, not me..........:)

As for Meadows $3 mil, it looks to me like a great front office move. We might could have kept Jeno James for the same cash, less than the 6 year $20 mil he got from Miami, but now for less money we have a better offensive guard and the flexibility to move him to tackle. On paper, Meadows for less money than Jeno James looks like a great move.

We should trade our entire draft for Vick.
