    Why did everybody like this first movie movie so much?? I thought it was OK, but even though I don't really like or dislike Johnny Depp, I just didn't see how the movie made him such a big star, or bigger star or whatever. Out of a 1-10, I'd give it a 5. Totally unextraordinary. I'll wait for the 2nd one on video. They didn't show nearly enough of the girl, they coulda made it a lot better with a few half naked shots of her. I mean at least show a nipple, they showed Jennifer Aniston's butt in The Break Up, and it still wasn't worth seeing.

    My rant.

    I liked it because of Johnny Depp's performance. I'd never seen a pirate movie with a quirky pirate.

    Johnny Depp is a great actor, and he made the first Pirates movie much more adult-friendly, but it's still a kid's movie.

    Keira Knightley does absolutely nothing for me. I enjoyed POTC despite her, not because of her.
