    >>I could see them trading as you suggest, or taking Rogers. Why Palmer?

Rodgers would make them dangerous, but Kitna, though serviceable for a year more or so, is not a long term guy anyway. I do think they'll try to trade down and hold Palmer hostage, but if they keep the top spot. Rodgers would be more impact than need, and their needs are on defense. But do you really want to spend a #1 overall on Jimmy Kennedy?

I may predict a tradedown after the combine to see who likes whom.

    >>One could dream. As long as they go D we have a chance at getting something to fall.

Certainly a need. It's either Kennedy or McGahee, but I think they can get that back they need at the top of round 2.

    >>7.MINNESOTA: Vince Wilfork DT 6-2, 345 Miami

But I don't know where Robbins and Howard are in development, and linebacker's horrible value as well as CB.

Niether were, or are, players of this caliber. Remember, Minnesota was going to take Sims last year. Getting something beside Hovan would make them more dangerous. Its too easy to jus gameplan around Hovan.

    >>I'd go with Johnson, but you knew that. Manning would be nice as well, but Fox is probably less likely. Either that or he's just playing a really long version of poker here.

I'd be happy with either. By draft day, I think we will know whether Fox will go ahead with a pick like this, depending on who we bring in FA or trade. We certainly don't trade up or anything like that IMO. We'd be happy with whomever else drops. I just don't see the defensive players dropping that far with the needs ahead of us. Having Roy Williams come out would help however.

    >>Foster

He is versitle enough to play either, and plays where he does at Georgia because JS is so frigging light.

Harris would make more sense to make this jump here, but if he does not come out, I don't see Gross being the only Tackle in the top 25. A guy like Foster could test his way in.

16.CLEVELAND: Terence Newman CB 5-11, 175 Kansas State

Unspectacular and ho-hum pick. But that's what Cleveland does and somehow makes it look as if it worked well enough to stay mediocre.

    >>DENVER: DeWayne White DE 6-3, 270 Louisville

As with the other defensive lineman you mentioned, happens every year. Neither Albert Haynesworth, D Lewis, Ryan Pickett, Thomas, or Charles Grant were really as good of value where they were taken production wise. But if you are big enough and run a 4.8, you get taken high.

    >>Chicago trade w/ BUNGLES: Carson Palmer QB 6-4, 220 Southern Cal

    I could see this trade.

Detriot might trade down, but for more offensive lineman? Don't they have enough first round tackle reaches on that fucking (excuse my french) team?

    >>4.Cinncy trade w/ CHICAGO: Jordan Gross OT 6-6, 310

Other than the fact that they are the Bungles, why on earth would they neglect QB or a defensive lineman to reach for a player at a position of strength. They do not need to spend top 5 money on a Right Tackle, this is the one thing that they already have. I'd sooner expect them to reach for a corner.

    >>5.DALLAS:. Eli Manning QB 6-4, 210 Mississippi

I'd be very suprised to see this after they payed big money to Hutchinson and still have QC developing. I'd also bet that Hambrick does not get a starting job next year. I think they wanted him to step above Emmitt this year, he hasn't been able to do it. I also don't think Denny cares what color his QB is, though he is likely to rate BL higher, based on talent.

    >>7.MINNESOTA: Vince Wilfork DT 6-2, 345 Miami
I'll let this one be, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Tice go with O-line.

I would. This team needs defense, at every level. They've got McKinnie. Even if they trade him, it's likely only if they go after a guy like Pace.

    >>8.CAROLINA: Larry Johnson RB 6-2, 222 Penn State

Lot of risk. We will know more draft day, but I'd feel more comfortable going with Foster and a FA. In don't hold much stock in the "never take players from this position from the school" thought, but LJ has some Curtis Enis in him.

    >>11.ST. LOUIS: David Porter OT 6-7 320 Iowa

I'll admit Foster was a slight reach, but damn. You don't see me pimping Will Ofenheusle (who is getting some press, strong, smart, but he's so fucking stiff, he's overrated in anyone's top 100).

    >>17.NY GIANTS: E.J. Henderson LB 6-2, 240 Maryland

    Move Barrow weakside?

With Manning in, McGahee & Williams staying

Bengals-Palmer QB So Cal, hey this is the Bengals why fill an immediate more pressing need?

Lions-Rodgers WR Mich St, instant offense for Herrington and who ever the new coach may be

Texans-Kennedy DT Penn St, an OL though the biggest need is a reach here, but Kennedy gives them some one who can be a force on D

Bears-Manning QB Miss, a reach as he's a year or two away, but they have to sell tickets in those new seats at Soldier Field next year

Cowboys-Wilfork DT Miami, a difference maker on the D line to take some of the pressure off those CB's. Expect the 'Boys to make a strong run at Steven Davis in FA.

Cardinals-Suggs DE Arixona St, home town boy makes good and collects a few sacks along the way

Vikings-Joseph DT Miami, a beast to pair with Hovan

Panthers-Leftwich QB Marshall, damn how'd we get so lucky?

Jaguars-Johnson WR Miami, the Soward experiment comes to an end and a legit weapon for WR

Seahawks-McDougle DE Miami, some one to take the heat off the LB's on put it on opposing QB's

Rams-Gross OT Utah, a mauler to bookend Pace (franchised) and keep the QB from taking a beating

Redskins-Johnson RB Penn St, some one to replace Davis once he's been cut

Ravens-Newman CB Kansas St, McAllister's price tag will be too high and they'll draft his replacement

Patriots-Haynes DE Penn St, they were hoping for a RB, but they'll be pleased with seeing him here

Chargers-Foster OT Georgia, they need O linemen worse than we do

Browns-White DE Louisville, a bookend to go with Courtney Brown

Giants-Woods WR Oklahoma St, Collins is so happy to have a new weapon he may start drinking again to celebrate

Patriots-Weathersby CB Oregon St, Otis Smith ain't gettin' any younger

Broncos-Chris Simms QB Texas, the Griese era is over in Broncoland. A bit of a reach here, but best still available at this point

Colts-Bailey LB Georgia, good fit here, begins the upgrade in speed on D for the Colts

Jets-Robertson DT Kentucky, more beef for the D line helps the interior push freeing Ellis and Abraham on the outside to do more damage

Saints-Witten TE Tennessee, upgrades the TE spot with a playmaker

Saints-Hayes LB Pittsburgh, mean and nasty LB

Steelers-Ragone QB Louisville, Kordell's toast and Mattox ain't no spring chicken, he's got a year or two to develop

Falcons-Lloyd WR Illinois, a legit target for Vick

49ers-Warren DT Texas, Stubblefield's heir apparent

Raiders-Suggs RB Virginia Tech, Garner's eventual replacement, a load of talent but there are major injury concerns

Packers-Woolfork CB Oklahoma, given a year to comeback from injury he'll be starting within two years

Raiders-Redding DE Texas, a replacement for Armstrong

Titans-Manuwai OG Hawaii, aside from openning holes for George, he'll help keep McNair off his back

Eagles-Johnson WR Penn St, Freddie Mitchell? Antonio Freeman? At least this guy's a legit WR.

So we need a official draft order now. What 13th? Dan Morgan was there at 13

I just can't rationalise the Bungles going QB this year with so many other needs. They might actually be more likley to go to the D side with the first rounder, and look for a OG in round 2 or 3. They DO need O-line help though and might look for another WR day one as well...that Whosee-whatsit guy SUCKS.

Either way, the Bengals WON'T take the first pick. They'll be looking to stock up this year. I expect them to look for their QB next year as there should be another solid class...unless someone drops to the 3rd or into day 2?

Complete draft order won't be official til after the SB.

McFly by now you're old enough to know not to use the words "rationalize" and "Bengals" in the same sentence.

True but only the last two spots would change after the SB?

Willie Anderson is a very good Right Tackle. They are extremely happy with the development of Levi Jones. Everyone was down on them for that pick because they already had Richmond Webb, but he struggled and then got hurt.

They don't need, and won't take, an offensive tackle in the first round.

Well, like I said in my original post, I haven't done all my research yet...just got started and haven't even looked at Line yet.

Defensive help is probably more likely, but I don't see them going for a QB now that Kitna has won everyone in Cinncy from the front office to the players to the fans over. They still hold Smith in high regaurd and the organization has been open about accepting blame for rushing him.

They can save money, address more glaring needs and get more picks by trading down. There is no doubt in my mind that holding Palmer hostage would be the smartest thing they can do...or Leftwich as it may be, if he shows no signs of further affect from his injury come Combine time.
