Haha... they're both DMB songs from "Before These Crowded Streets." :guitar: :nopity: :drums:

ANYWAY, I'd rather have too many frontcourt players than too few. Who knows, Pigford may end up playing 10 a night at the wing position. That leaves Withers' leftover minutes for Spooner at the 4.

    Rah

I don't know. You guys sound like a bunch of rah-rahs to me. ;)

Spooner is supposed to be similar to Kenkay in size, style, game. He'll be quick on the boards, blocks shots and score around the basket.

Pigford will give us added depth at the 3 and 4.

Bennett's size will be a plus. Plav and Demon make us fairly small in the backourt. Bennett adds a little more height. Plus, he looked like he has a decent 15 footer and knows the game.

Bennett is a solid pickup and will fill the void until we bring in an exceptional shooter/athlete to play the 2.

Good point about Grier though. If he gets a jumper, I'd love to see him at the 2 in his 3rd and 4th season.

I think these two things are the bare minimum that every D1 basketball player should have.

    Re: Re: Rah

I agree. Problem is only about half do. We often the get the half that don't. It's tough to find the total package and the total package goes elsewhere.

Take Jobey for example. He has range to 25 feet, knows the game, plays hard, works hard but is too slow, lacks footwork, and has average athletic ability. He was a very good college player.

Grier may be the example of a player without the jumper and not knowing how to maximize athletic ability, yet would still be a very good college player. If he learns how to use his ability, works hard and develops a consistent jumper, he can be a star.

I'll take a 50/50. Out of Pigford and Spooner, one will be a valuable addition, one will wish they had transferred to the Southern Conference.

Take Bracey Wright, last year's freshman at Indiana. Plays hard, knows the game, 25 foot range. We need dudes like that.
