There are no positions other tham EO's that isn't expendable - this team won 18 games, there's no reason to consider anyone above replacement.

Granted, the draft isn't this deep anymore. There won't be a Paul Pierce dropping to 10, for instance. That type player would be a top 3-4 this year.

The rankings suggest that around 5, the best thing out there's a big man, which I'm not certain plays into our cards well at all. I read up on Green, and he seems like the best possible addition right now - could fill in at either swing spot, can penetrate, just wish he were a little heavier. He'll get banged around.

Agreed but we should not be drafting for need either. I get the idea that if Paul is gone we may take a PG anyway regardless of who else is on the board.

Well, it's a PG heavy draft.

I don't see a considerable difference between Paul, Deron Williams, and Felton. All three have positives to their game that the other's can't match. Felton by far the fastest, and perhaps the best outside shooter (damn, can't believe I just said that), Paul has the basketball vision that you can't teach and is a tough finisher around the rim, and Deron Williams is the toughest, when it comes to rebounding, defense, and protecting the ball. If we get one of those three, especially at five, that's pretty good. One will be there, I'll feel better about the decision if two or even all three are there.

Gerald Green's stock seems to be rising as Portland needs an athletic wing or a center, and it doesn't look like Bogut will fall to three. Assuming Bogut/Williams are 1/2, all of a sudden Paul is there at 4. Damn that coin flip loss to the Hornets!

I would prefer the Hornets get first pick between Paul and Deron....they are sure to fuck it up and we will end up with the better player.

Funny you should say that, I'm trolling Hornetsreport right now and they seem pretty down on Paul as a whole. Someone suggested that they trade down to get our two picks, but I'm getting ready to set him straight.

I don't see anyone wanting Deron Williams either, they have their hearts set on Marvin Williams or Gerald Green.

That said, any chance Atlanta goes PG? Someone over there suggested that Bogut goes first and Atlanta takes Paul, allowing Williams to fall to NO, due to the glut in Portland.

At least we wouldnt have to worry about Bernie screwing it up.

An article in the paper asked him yesterday about his experience with the lottery and mentioned he had made lottery picks with 4 different teams.

I think that means he has had lottery picks with every team he has coached.

I'd be pissed as hell if the Bobcats traded the 5 and 13 for the 4. That's just stupid. If you're gonna trade those picks you could get as high as 2 and possibly 1.

They wouldn't do it. Like you said, 5 and 13 could get us 1 or 2. However, I don't see either Milwaukee or Atlanta or Portland for that matter trading down.

I might be willing to slide a second rounder 2 years from now to move up to four, but that would depend on if Paul or Williams was there.
