a little dissapointed but at least the magic didnr win it again. and ATL, they need all kinds of help.
That being said, without looking at the teams rosters in the top five, depending on what others teams biggest needs are can/could help us move up or wheel and deal.

Last year we had pick four and moved up to 2 with an early second rounder (this year).

Portland's got a stacked roster, perhaps we could swing 5 and 13 for 3 and a player. If we came out of the draft with Chris Paul and Darius Miles? Abdur-Rahim might be a nice fit too.

edit---fuck that. Hold Portland for salary cap ransom. They already have to open the bank for Telfair in a couple of years. They have tons of cash dumped into Abdur-Rahim and Zach Randolph, when they play the same position. They'll come to us looking for a deal like I posted above. We should answer by saying we'll take their player plus the 3 just for our 5. If teams can trade players for cap space, I don't see what's different about that deal.

    I'll take Green and Felton.

although Fran Vasquez may be a better pick at 5 or maybe even trade down and get him around 8 and pick up a player from trade.

I'm hoping for a holdout or lockout.

If we get two top 13 players we input two starters and improve two positions over last year.

Paul and Warrick would be great additions to our lineup as opposed to say just a Marvin Williams.

I really do not see the huge need at point guard that everyone talks about. Knight had a good year. What this team needs is a guy who can score and create his own shot. How many more games would this team have won last year if it had a guy who could score in the clutch? Seems like every game was close until the end.

Very good point. I just dont see a "shooter" worthy of the five pick.

If not Warrick at 13, you could get a good shooter there. ESPN mock has us taking the SG Antoine Wright from Texas A&M at 13.

I am all for taking BPA. It just seems every story talks about our dire need a the point. I just do not see it.

Yeah, after sleeping on it, 5 and 13 is still a pretty damn good position to be in for an expansion team. Like I've said before, while I don't expect Bogut/Williams/and Paul to all be busts, history shows us that one will be, and perhaps two. That said, Paul's lack of height just might make him fall. Portland drafted Telfair last year, so they won't be drafting a PG. The Bucks still have some money invested in TJ Ford. Atlanta has taken 20 SFs in the last three drafts, yet they want Williams. It's a cluster fuck at the top, and the guy we want might fall.

Also, check this list of recent 13 picks. Pretty damn good ratio I think of good players, with the verdict still out on a couple of players.

    Year No. 13
    2004 Sebastian Telfair
    2003 Marcus Banks
    2002 Marcus Haislip
    2001 Richard Jefferson
    2000 Courtney Alexander
    1999 Corey Maggette
    1998 Keon Clark
    1997 Derek Anderson
    1996 Kobe Bryant
    1995 Corliss Williamson

Hakim Warrick would be a perfect fit there, for our team and a steal for his talent imo.
