anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
there's still ten QBs on the top 39. That's bizarre.

Too bad these are all really in the top 50.

What I would love to see...
    1. Move up to #1 - pick Byron Leftwich
(Trade Weinke, and/or all picks except 2nd rounder to Houston - who does'nt need QB anyway)
    2. Pick Andre Johnson in round 2.

Based on the fantasy land list...
    1. William Joseph (Bradie James above Joseph? )
    2. Andre Johnson (target him in second right now)
    3. Terrence Newman (won't last that long)
    4. Grossman or Williams (no freak'n way they are there though - although I wouldn't take Grossman sub - 3rd. and Roy will go round 1 on potential alone)

Comment: Greg Jones has talent - but hasn't reached those heights quite yet. Although his straight line speed and size are off the charts - he doesn't have the agility of top backs. Doesn't make people miss either. However as a power back he is impressive. I'd take McGahee above him ATP. Actually I would want Kevin Jones more too.

Manning, Ragone, Roy Williams, Redding, Holt and Henderson are ridiculously underated on that board.

Andrew Walter at ASU is starting to garner some attention as well. He is only a SOPH so he will be heard from in the future.
Kingsbury is very accurate with good size. Nice prospect to develop and I would LOVE to have him here. Same can be said for Pickett on a lesser scale. I don't like Rivers much but he puts on better numbers than his arm suggests he is capable of. Not a pro QB IMO.

Leftwich is by far the #1 prospect in the next draft. What can't he do?? Unbelievable accuracy - especially considering the guy throw so many passes. His receiving corps isn't top shelf IMO either. He will be a GREAT NFL QB and can be a league MVP type very early in his career.

All and all if the Panthers were to somehow move up and get Leftwich and then secure a top WR - say Andre Johnson a little later (round 2) - this team could be dominant in the very near future IMO.

I was very impressed with Jones’s agility vs the Canes. He’s a first rounder.

Leftwitch can be very good. But he doesn’t have any jaw dropping physical traits, other than size perhaps. Strong arm, perhaps strongest in class, but not like a Vick or Carr. Good athlete for a QB, but not McNabb or Vick like where he could play another skill position. But no glaring weaknesses either, which may be his biggest strength. I’ll take him

Now your nit picking Leftwich. Ok, he might not have the STRONGEST arm in the NFL but he can toss the rock with anyone. Nothing short of excellent arm strength. Its laughable to question his arm. He is as good an athlete as 90% of the QBs in the NFL too. Comparing anyone to Vick or McNabb as runners is silly. They are two of the best the NFL has EVER seen in the open field.
Leftwich is as close to the total package as you will find. To me - his accuracy over shadows anything that can be said about mobility. He is a franchise QB in every sense of the definition.

Disagree on Jones, but again he does what he does well. He can play well in the NFL IMO, just won't star in it.

I’ll take Leftwitch if he falls to us. I agree, he’s accurate, and polished in a Pro system. He and Manning are one two, and Ragone 3. But no, he’s more of a classic drop back, big tall and strong. More Jim Kelley than anything.

  8. I know this is a fantasy list but I will go with this:
    1st rnd rogers
    2nd rnd weathersby
    3rd rnd kingsbury
    4th rnd harris

I think that we do need to draft a wr the first rnd, a qb the 2nd rnd, a cb the 3rd rnd and a ot plus another cb the 4th rnd.

    1st rnd woods(ok st)/davis (mrshll)/paige(txs tech)/jacobs (fl)

    2nd rnd kingsbury(txs tech)/boller(ca)/manning(miss)/rivers(nc st)/pickett(wash)/gesser(wash st)

    3rd rnd scott (psu)/walton (nd)/duff (nd)/vasher(txs)/lehan(minn)

    4th rnd starks(fl)/kupe(minn)/ ellington(ala)/offenheusle(tenn)

These are some ideas I was kicking around for the draft. That also depends on what happens with fa. I mean wr Jackson (ss), boston (ariz), price(buff), driver (gb), gadsden(md) and coles(nyj) are ufa next year. TE's are cleeland (ne) and gonzalez(kc). OT's adams (dallas), pace (rams), jones (ss) and page from dallas. DT's young (rams), okeafor(san fran). CB's bly(rams), bartee(kc), rolle(tenn). It swould be nice to get price and coles as wr fa, cleeland as te fa, adams and/or page as ot fa, young as dt fa, and bly and rolle as cb fa's. Our team would be looking alot better plus we have the draft and there isn't any decent qb's up next year on the fa list that I know of. This fa list with this draft would be real nice. I see weinke as a cap hit and gilbert retiring. I also see kasay and walls possibly retiring. Kasay for injuries and walls because they don't use te's as much when we should and we need someone to complement wiggins. Let me know what you guys think.

    1. Kelley Washington, Tenn., WR - Massive WR with a mean streak. Would be a nice compliment to Moose and moves Smith to the Slot where he can focus a little more on return duties. In this scenario, we'd likely lose Byrd, which is a shame.
    OR
Tommie Harris, Oklahoma, DT - DOMINATION

    2. Andre Woolfolk, Oklahoma, CB - The kids tough, that's for sure!
    OR
Jimmy Kennedy, Penn. St., DT - If not Harris.

    3. Jared Lorenzen, Kentucky, QB - Laugh if you want, but J-Lo, The Round Mound of Touchdown, The Pillsbury Throwboy...whatever you want to call him. He'll continue to move up the boards.
    OR
Carson Palmer, USC, QB - Continues to develop his head and has great raw skills.

    4. Dallas Clark, Iowa, TE - Very Walls-like, but more athletic. Makes the toughest catches look easy. Has had limited production this year due to double teams early and a bad ankle.
    OR
Jon Stinchcomb, Georgia, OT - Haven't seen him play much, but what I did see he isn't great, but VERY steady
