If we construct a spaceship that accelerates at 1G, how long will it take for it to achieve the speed of light, (186,000 miles per second), and what happens if the ship continues to accelerate?

"if" is the big problem there. according to einstein, a 1g acceleration becomes more and more difficult to produce as you go faster. getting up to the speed of light takes an infinite amount of energy. so, i guess the answer is it won't happen.

Plus if you ever did approach to the speed of light, by theory, all matter would be stretched and ripped apart. In other words, if you were going feet first your feet would reach the speed of light first ripping them away from the rest of your body. Same goes for trying to enter a black hole.

If you travel faster than 60mph your face will peel off.

This is true, but only if you're running.
