    >>The Panthers hoped they would develop a special quarterback in Chris Weinke. Then they hoped they could develop a decent backup in Randy Fasani. They hoped both Weinke and Fasani could develop while veteran Rodney Peete ran the show and acted as a mentor. But we’re told that the Panthers now could be willing to scrap the whole lot of them and start over fresh with three brand-new quarterbacks next season. Head coach John Fox doesn’t look for a lot out of his QBs — simply not making mistakes with the ball is what earned Peete the starting job in the first place — but with the defense playing well all season, Fox wants to begin to upgrade the offense a bit by adding a leader for the future. The Panthers have been struggling on the field because they just don’t have any offensive weapons that can make plays, including at QB, and we’re told that the Panthers will be looking to completely overhaul the position by the time training camp opens next August.<<

Thank you. This is the best news I've heard all season. I totally agree.

Only question that still remains is Henning. If Fox makes the QB position out to be the scape goat, does this secure Henning's job?

Scrapping all three doesn't make Henning safe unless Fox wants to keep him. Depending who we sign and draft, we'll more than likely look for some one who fits their talents and have something to look forward to besides one-two-three-punt.

    Don't you mean 'one-run, two-run, three-draw'?:)

I'm finding it hard to argue over Henning. Reason is what he says, and what that says - our QB's really suck, so how can we let them throw the ball all day? I think they feel the odds were better to let the defense win.

At any rate, I think with better talent, Henning will be more willing to run a more aggressive offense.

That one pass by Fasani was comical. It was like a grounder.

I read the article, its been a long day so I could have missed something. But this article reads like its just one guys opinion, whoever wrote the article. The words above would indicate that the Panthers no longer feel they see a future in Fasani. Do you have any facts? The article itself is not fact, and holds no more merit than if you, I or the next guy posted it, unless like I said, I missed the direct quote from John Fox. I cruised around that site and frankly their perception on several things seems biased and pretty much heavily opinionated... heck fire we get that right here at TBR... :D

so what you're saying is that because they disagree with your non-changing viewpoint of Fasani, they're biased? Yet you'd be quoting it if it said much different.

He put up a 0.0. He's two years away from being a pro QB who can be counted on, and you must be able to count on a backup. I know you'll disagree, but you're certainly in the minority, and there's not bias in the suggestion that Fasani is not currently a solid backup in the NFL.

No, Math, the one-two-three are the three running plays.

Fasani getting cut? Sandy will have to find another third stringer to pump up. Then again, doesn't he always?

Yeah, maybe the idea was to one-hop it. Either way it's pretty clear he should be fighting for 3rd, which he should have been doing this year.

Agree that basically we shouldn't open it up as much with what we have. Disagree that we need to be so lacking in creativity and other adjectives that suggest running different plays rather than the same ones in a row.

Sandman, you're the most biased person on this board. You relentlessly bash B-line, and stubbornly cling to the idea that Craig is a great qb, and somewhere along the line you latched onto Fasani.

Craig is unemployed. He unsuccessfully went to the Arena league, where he was second string. Like Craig, Fasani is NOT a quality NFL backup. He rated 0.0. That's really bad. I hope he does great - I really do. But everything that he's done since preseason has been terrible.

B-line, though certainly not the God alot of folks in Charlotte made him out to be, is better than any QB on our roster. He's a quality backup.

I have to believe you pull this shit just to toy with people and act crazy, because anybody who actually believes that stuff is totally fucking stupid. You seem kinda off-balance, but not totally stupid.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and presume you've been fucking with us for the past 2 years. Well done, mate!
