What a total crock that the #5 rb in nation would win this award. I don't give any credibility to awards anymore....they're all a bunch of shit!

I've watched Chris Perry and Darren Sproles (OK, I know what Sproles looks like from behind anyway and so do Lehman, Strait and Harris among others)...

I'd vote for Sproles. 500 yards against Nebraska and Oklahoma??? Last guy I remember racking up those kind of numbers in crunch time at the end of the season in the Big XII (8 then) was Billy Sims in 1979 when he ran for 282 vs. Missouri, 247 yards vs. Nebraska. Remember the Nebraska game well, sitting in the student section in row 11 on the 20 yard line. Quite a performance, just like Sproles.

FYI, Bob Stoops was a member of the 1979 Hawkeyes that played against Sims in the opener.

Perry's a Heisman finalist, and a damn good back. Stats don't equal talent.

Clearly, the guy from North Texas should have won then. I mean, he was the #1 back.

Kevin Jones is a better back than Perry.

He's from Davie County and when Perry was at Fork Union all he wanted to do was go to UNC.

His coach sent letters to Torbush saying UNC really needed to recruit him because he was a lock to go if UNC offered.

UNC showed no interest and never offered.

    oops:rolleyes:
