Well off hand, he was good w Buffalo, earned enough respect to get the interim job, and probably should've stayed. He had Buffalo competing very hard, playing pretty well, and I can't remember where I read it, but players were upset he wasn't retained.

He comes into NY, and builds a damn good defense. Sure, there were holes, late and some collapses. I don;t like that, but players love him, he's really fiery, and he gets a ton individually out of players, and if he can do this, and let his coordinators coordinate, and inspire a team to play lights out, and manage the players and the game, be tough and aggressive, and we play our cards right in the draft, I believe it's possible we have a smash mouth, inspired team playing like hell.

Fewell is a guy who again, isn't a sexy choice, because he's a hard nosed DC. But he's had success, and things are good where he is. I wish I had the time to look at stats right now, but sadly, I'm at work, and I can only come here in bursts...but initially, I've been kind of fan of this guy for a while.

I will say this...I was a fan of Jeff Davidson too, and I want to murder him still at this point. Though even then, I thought he could be solid, I never dreamt he would suck this bad, and I would've screamed bloody murder if he was mentioned as a replacement for JF.

But Fewell has done it before with a degree of success...with a terrible, terrible team. With awful talent he didn't get to help mold, or try and turn around.

He has the Giants defense attacking, maiming, and overall, still the pride of the team...this is off hand...

Can't really disagree with a lot of this. Key with just about any HC is getting the right OC/DC and staff and letting them do their jobs on gameday.

Yep. John Fox was at his best when he had a good staff around him. As is, with most coaches, I believe, unless you're coaching in New England.

Good defense that faded down the stretch. I could give a fuck whether he grew up in gaztonia.or not. Is that something people admit?

Yep... and then he advised his assistants to take other offers 2 seasons ago.

    Ownership.

How do we know that Rivera didn't decline the rumored Rooney interview request and we are now scrambling to line up a minority interview? Either that, or there is no way Harbaugh will be announced as a Panther tomorrow, even though ESPN seems to think he will be hired "within 48 hours."

There is some interesting comment made by the front runner for the 49er job, BAAKE (from memory) who reportedly said that Harbaugh was not a good fit for them. And then there were 2--Denver, Carolina--if true.

... and Carolina can draft the QB you've been grooming for 3 years.
