He is a great talent and I hate to see him leave because it hurts the team but I have never had that emotional attachment that I had to some other guys that left. He is not the kind of guy who leaves his heart on the field and makes you really root for him. I know that is subjective and bordering on the infamous "passion" argument but speaking just for myself I feel that way.

I hope Pep gets what he wants and has a good rest of his career wherever he ends up. I also hope even more that we can use the tag to get something decent in return for him so the team can keep moving forward.

He's looking for a team with a QB that don't choke. Why bust your ass when the QB is going to gift wrap the game for the other team.

That sums up how I feel. I am a bit down knowing he doesnt want to be here. In fact, I am more down about that than the fact that we blew an opportunity against the Cards. I am a UNC fan and was thrilled when Peps came and have been thrilled with moments in his career. It is hard though to get too thrilled with the player when on one hand he walks Chris Samuels a pro bowl level tackle into the opposing QB and then on the other hand he disappears for seemingly long stretches. Scheme? Perhaps, but with the allegations of taking plays off going back to college it makes it very difficult to chalk it all up to scheme.

He does leave a huge hole IMO in our defense, one that will be very difficult to fill. I bet ultra competitive guys like John Beason are really ticked.

I don't think he wants to be a leader. The pressure Jerry and Fox put on him to take that leadership role made him uncomfortable, and I think he's a guy that wants to blend in, do his job, and leave the inspiring to someone else.
