Strahan was a second rounder. My fault. But here are some other first rounders who have been Pro Bolwers

    Hugh Douglas
    Kearse
    Marco Coleman
    Marcus Jones
    Simeon Rice
    Joe Johnson
    Willie McGinnest
    Kevin Carter
    Leon Lett
Reggie White (USFL, but would have been 1st round NFL)

    >>>I see you have low expectations of a number 2 pick.<<<

8.5 sacks in 12 games is pretty respectable, actually great for a rookie. That would translate into about 11 sacks over a full season.

just out of cureosity...why, when people make lists like that, do they leave Robert Porcher off the list...over the past 8 years, he has the best numbers...plus he can play against the run. Is it just because he is a Lion and doesn't get respect?

And the point is, McKinnie isn't the best player. He isn't a great run blocker. He didn't have a great workout. Although he is raw and better suited for the right side, on athletic ability, many have Mike Williams as the best Tackle.

He'll probably be a great pass blocking LT, much like Brockenmeyer was and is. But hasn't got Peppers upside. Or Jammer's. Hell, even with the sculrosis, I'll still like Henderson's upside more.

Good memory. A number 1 pick too. Porcher was great, and is still very good, though aging.

I used to be Detroit when I played Madden on Sega. Herman Moore, Barry Sanders and Scott mitchell were awesome. I was always Porcher on defense. He was a unstoppable.

I'm afraid this is the case for a lot of fans. If he doesn't get double digit sacks his first year, people will start screaming for his head.

Having that kind of success in year one is rare.

True Piper, too many people expect every record to be broken every year.

    >>He isn't a great run blocker.

And we're trying to run the ball.

And Williams fits what we want to do better.

Never hurt me that much. I have a lot of upside :D Just a stiff back. So that means I'm limited at things that are strenuous on the back for an hour straight or longer...but I've never had complaints.

Anyway, boo, Piper's more than right on this one. Peppers, possibly Jammer, have the right value at 2. It's a major reach to think of McKinnie at 2 even if he did fit what we wanted, had a higher BP, had the mean streak, but since he doesn't, the least you could do to help your case is suggest a trade down to about 7 or 8.

I'd be more than happy with 8 sacks in 16 games for Peppers starting out. To be honest I'd be more concerned with his consistency and run play than statistics.
