I think a Stewart, 2nd or 3rd round QB, and even Fasani would be good for this team. We will end up with a 6-10 or 7-9 record which is just great after being 1-15. But the next step is making the playoffs and I just think we have a better chance of making the playoffs with Stewart rather than Peete or Plummer or King.

The only attribute Peete hold over Stewart, IMO is years in the league which don't mean shit when most of that time was spent on the sidelines. Peete's done a good job this year, but the goal of most franchises is to make the playoffs and then ultimately win the SB. Not gonna happen with Peete.

  2. Even Mort is saying Stewart is gone from Pittsburgh. Actually, Kordell impressed me on how he handled the demotion, and supported Maddox every step of the way. And, as a true professional, he was prepared to step-in when Maddox went down, and executed.

While I'm not a Kordell fan, it appears he might be the best "short term" fix for us. I'd keep Peete, put Fasani on the Practice Squad, and draft another QB project with more potential than Randy.

But, Kordell needs to RUN if the receivers are covered. Don't just be a "quarterback". He was most effective when his instincts rules, not his mind. And, we don't need to overpay him. Plummer might get more $ on the market, but I don't think he's worth it. The FA QB market is lackluster at best, IMO.
