Peete and Steve arguing on sideline...

    Huh?

"The Panthers, who lead the NFL with 17 sacks, had just one from Mike Rucker -- his team-leading sixth. ... Arizona's Renaldo Hill recovered both Carolina fumbles. ... The Panthers tried a fake punt on their first possession that went for just two yards when they needed eight. ... Peete and receiver Steve Smith were seen arguing on the sideline at least twice over formations and routes. ... Arizona fullback Joel Makovicka left the game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury."

I could not see it from watching it on TV, but I would have to side with Peete based on experience. I like Steve Smith, but not as a #1 WR on any NFL team. This is his first year starting at that position WR and with Moose out he is our #1. Peete is not perfect on his throws but I think he is a bit more knowledgeable about what a route should be.

With the philosophy of this coaching staff, I hope we get a top notch WR next year via trade perhaps. This position has been a concern for me the last 3 seasons. If Peete faulters this year... or not. I'd like to see us keep Fasani for grooming and perhaps another Peete type QB. But then again, if Peete has too many more 4th Qtr turnovers, I'll be ready to see Randy.

Does anyone know if Fasani is the #2 QB? If he's #3, he can't play unless both Peete and Weinke are knocked out.

Weinke is still #2. So should Peete get hurt, or Fox wants to make the move, Weinke would get the call at this point.

Don't think it matters between the three of them who is QB. None of them is a difference maker, and there isn't enough skill at WR to make them look good. I'd sure like to see Foster in there, an explosive back who can catch the ball sure makes everything else look better.

That's what I thought. I don't understand why we would trade to get a WR or why Fasani would be bumped to #2.

Trades are rare these days, but getting another reciever is pretty important.

Right. Receiver draft will be fairly deep won't it?

(I'm sure y'all have already talked about it...)

You know, as bad as it seems that we need a couple of receivers, I think getting a franchise QB is just as, if not more, important. Since I moved up here to Philly, I get to watch a lot of Eagles games. Lemme tell you, their receivers ain't that good. McNabb makes em look a lot better. He has such a strong arm and pinpoint accuracy that he doesn't need a whole lot of a window to put the ball into. The Eagles also have a playmaking defense. I really think if we model ourselves after the Eagles and draft one of the top QB's coming out this year, we will really be doing ourselves a favor in the long term.

On the other hand, you have to be in position to draft a franchise QB. We may not be.
