Too bad Holcomb isn’t a free agent. He’s a chunk! It would be great to have in the backfield to pickup the blitz or get those red zone and short yardage calls.

Hoover makes a fine H-back and all, and can do some power runs but this offense needs a real fullback, not a hybrid. Keep Hoover for specialty, but lets' get a real blocking power fullback in here.

neal and gash are out there next year. Tony Carter should be as well. Hope we don't dick around at FB, no.

yep. I'd like Leftwich as a more heady and less run reliant version of the early McNair. A bull back with shift wouldn't suck.

    Fat Albert is hurt.

He's played ok, but his rookie season hasn't been very strong, statistically not as strong as Henderson, and questions about his motor and durability have surfaced. Same thing at TN. Remind me why Kiper has a job again.

I have a response to that response.

Looking at my trusty 2003 draft guide for morons I wanted to throw out a few FB possibilities for the draft.

    Andrew Pinnock - South Carolina - 6-0, 250, 4.65
The classic hybrid FB/RB. Big enough to play fullback, not fast enough to play halfback. He's the top fullback in this draft and is likely to be a late first day pick. Has proven to have the hands to be effective out of the backfield. Needs blocking help.

    Casey Moore – Stanford - 6-2, 238, 4.72
Projected Pick: 4th or 5th Round Analysis: The classic fullback. No speed, but he blocks and plays like a *fuckin’ Champion.

Dawan Moss - Michigan State - 5-10, 252, 4.69 Projected Pick: 6th or 7th Round Analysis: Is considered by many as the **top fullback prospect, and he has the potential.

    * I added the F word because I feel like an idiot this evening. BTW, Moore might put on enough weight (ala Hoover) to be our guy since Pinnock doesn’t look like the natural blocking type judging by this.

** I wondered why he would be thought of by many as the “top prospect” yet projected not to go until the 6th or 7th. I found the following quote at another site that helps explain that . . . “Moss is Athletic and can run or block but has been held back by injuries” . . . Injuries. Nevermind.

BTW - I didn’t include Askew (Mich) because he is only 230 and is described as a tweener who is not big enough for FB. Doesn’t look like a blocking back to me.)

BTW #2 - Sleepers: Tom Lopienski – Colorado - 6-2, 235, 4.68 was listed as having “blocking prowess” at another site, but like Moore he’d need to start eatin’ cheesecake.)
