I will believe it when I see the press conferance. If Parcells skips this one I doubt he'll ever come back, course I am not sure why he would want to work for the egomaniac Jones anyway.

I think Parcells will keep Coslett.

If not, we'll get compensated. And hell, I'd hire Coslett.

    Win-win, there.

I would like Peete as a backup.

Looks like he wants Plummer too:

    from profootballtalk:

    PARCELLS TO PURSUE PLUMMER

If/when Bill Parcells becomes the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys, a league source tells us that he will aggressively pursue Jake Plummer as the team's next starting quarterback.

Plummer arguably is the crown jewel of a weak free-agent crop of quarterbacks, if Kurt Warner doesn't become available (and if Kurt is healthy).

Plummer earned a big contract from the Cardinals in only his second year, and the future looked bright for the franchise in 1998, when the Cards made the playoffs -- and won a postseason game (against the Cowboys) for the first time in decades.

The team all fell apart over the following two seasons, however, with injuries and free agency decimating a potentially suffocating defense, and with the front office unable to put enough weapons around Plummer on offense.

Plummer's contract expired at the end of the 2002, and the Cards have shown no interest in bringing him back.

Plummer and Hutchinson as his backup. Probably keep Emmitt a year if the cap (and he) allows. Otherwise Hambrick will do the job very well and would stay.

He's got a playmaker already on D with Roy Williams. He's got good linebackers, and bigger ends. Can't say LeRoi Glover isn't his type defensive lineman.

There's still a bunch of holes. Will be interesting to see if Flozell Adams returns, I don't think Bill's ever paid high for returning OL.

Could be a good situation for us: Tuna takes Henning and leaves us Peete. I could definitely live with that.

If Parcells does sign Plummer, who gets the boot -- Quincy Carter or Clint Stoerner?

If Stoerner gets the boot, I don't know that I would object to bringing him into Spartanburg to compete against Fasani for the #3 spot. (assuming we sign a FA starter, and Peete goes to #2)

    re

Who the hell would want Bruce Coslett as their offensive coordinator, OR head coach???

This guy stinks. But hey, lets look at his history, the bengals..yeah he did great there, the Jets...WOOO HOOO yeah. Wasn't he responsible for the 1-15 season they had a few seasons back BEFORE Parcells took over.

Anyone that trys to run the option in the NFL should lose his job on the spot.

Bill & Jerry's flavor of the month

After last nights Orange Palmer probably jumped to the top of their wish list. Jerry was droolin’ over the thought of “Aikman the sequel”. After the beat-down the Trojans put on the Iowa top-drawer D they would love to just transplant Chow and his entire offense; Palmer, Fargas, Colbert, Kelly, and Williams the wonder kid . . . Add Iowa’s TE Clark (looks better than Witten to me) and their O-line and the Dallas O is rebuilt and primed for their Parcells Super Bowl.
Parcells just might be the perfect coach for Dallas because Jones is probably scared enough of Bill to leave him the fuck alone and let him do his thang. Jones knows that Bill could (and hopefully would) beat the plastic out of that abstract he calls a face.
If those two can’t lure Chow into the NFL to join his prize pupil Palmer NOBODY can. Parcells has the rep and Jones has the clout to lure him into the web. Then Chow takes over in a few years after Parcells wins another Super Bowl.

    Jerry Jones IS Satan.

Coslett wasnt the coach responsible for the Jets debocle 1-15 season. That distinction belongs to...Rich Kotite in 1986.
    Copied from the Jets websight:

KOTITE STEPS ASIDE - Two days before the season finale vs. Miami, head coach Rich Kotite stepped aside after 3-13 and 1-15 campaigns. (Dec. 20)
