Parcells grabs Payton

    I'm not. If we didn't get him as an OC and decided to stay with Henning, then whatever. That we didn't attempt to get him as a quarterbacks coach, and let someone else get him, well, that bites ass.

    I don't remember Payton failing with a talented team.

    As an QB coach, sure. He struggled as an OC this year. The Giants were very inconsistent with him calling the plays.

    And given the choice between being Parcells QB coach and Fox's, well..................

    he was only the QBs coach for a year and a half. His success with that team came as OC. They weren't great this year, part of it was a complex offense that should have been narrowed down long before Fassel went on his media spree, and part of it was the line. He's no Lombardi, but he did his job, and I'd have taken him over Henning.

    "Seven games into this season, head coach Jim Fassel took over calling plays and the offense improved markedly." Might be a clue.
