I can't see getting real value here at all. A trade with Denver probably nets one of their two 3rd rounders and maybe a fringe player. He won't be dealt to Atlanta or Tampa Bay who have additional 2nd rounders and I don't see him going to a 3-4 team like the Jets or 49ers (two 3rd rounders). That leaves the Dolphins as the only other team with an additional 2nd.

I think we could get a late first for him maybe more. A probowl DT is in more demand than 1st round picks. Especially in this draft. Maybe he wasn't worthy of that last one, but he is still one of the better ones and someone will drool.

Doubtful. Us saying he's available kills any chances of that happening. If he weren't on the block already and the whispers coming out about him being out of shape maybe. Put those two together and teams will lowball what they offer.

Yup. I expect a lowball offer, and unless the Panthers just flat out want to dump Jenkins, I wouldn't be surprised to seem him playing for the Panthers again this year. That'll most likely mean he's a cap casualty after this year, but at least they're trying to get some value now.

I could deal with 56. Gives room for two safeties, an end, and the right offensive player first day. Still don't think it's equitable talent, but if they're willing to let go of Jenkins, this is about as good as it's going to get.

How else would we get a trade offer without teams knowing his availability?
That has nothing to do with his value. Letting it be known he's on the block gives teams a chance to evaluate and let the bidding begin. They will bid on what he is worth to them. DT isn't an easy position to fill. It isn't like he becomes a free agent if they wait.

The Lions want to draft out of the #2 spot to take away the temptation to draft a Johnson...once bitten, twice shy! Or maybe I should say thrice bitten?

If a team is going after a certain player, they'll make an offer regardless to guage interest. Letting it be known you're dumping a guy lessens his value especially when you make it known the player is somewhat of a problem in your eyes.

Maybe we could make another trade for a Jeff Lewis type player :ack2:
