Yeah, I hear that. And I thought about it. Anyone can get hurt on any play, any time though, so in that sense he's not an excessive risk. After sitting out two years I figure he should be better the second year back (and even though it was not up to his prior standards he was still better than a lot of guys). He's proven that when he plays he's a guy you must account for and he's not real expensive. Depends on how bad a team needs a DT and how much risk they feel like taking, I guess. What happens, happens, but I hope we don't just give him away.

I wouldn't say they are idiots becuase they aren't as informed about Panthers players as Panther fans are.

I am not even thinking of him getting hurt again, I am just thinking that he will not play any better than he did last year. His trade value is probably as high as it will ever be.

Still I would rather have him around than have an extra second day pick. If we can not get a second rounder I would probably keep him. Even with his diminished skills he is a good run stuffer and space eater and that still has some value in the NFL.

Jenkins and the 14th to Kansas City for the 23rd and 54th picks.

I might do that trade straight up with no Jenkins involved.

That's just fucked up. Maybe Jenkins for 54. What incentive is it to drop in the draft from 14 to 23 and lose a Pro Bowler?

that's trading down in the first and giving them Jenkins for free.

    that's awful. 1200 points for 23 and 54, 1100 points for 14. Jenkins = mid - 4th rounder?

Now, 45 and Jenkins for 23? That's at least some amount of value. It puts jenkins at 310 points. Late 2nd. If the Chiefs don't think he's worth that, throw in a 5.

    Now 23+54, by itself?
that's not awful. Cheaper contract by about half, you're probably looking at getting Posluszny or maybe Merriwether, outside chance of Olsen, at 23. 45 is Weddle, and 54 is your ILB or end.
