The 2022 Panthers are devolving into something that looks a lot like the 2010 version - the most obvious parallel being that there's no chance of scoring any points. You're going into each game knowing you're capped at 17 points, and that's completely demoralizing to the handful of players and coaches who are still trying to win these games.

You'd think promoting Wilks would come with more energy/professionalism from the team, but the early returns don't look good. Aside from the ridiculous in-fighting between a player and his childish, random-ass position coach plucked from the college ranks, the Panthers seemed content to get this game to 0:00 as fast as humanly possible. Before halftime, this team had the ball with good field position, three timeouts, and just gleefully ran to the locker room like a kid running to his mom's car after the last day of school. As for the fight, I'm tempted to side with Robby Anderson, since he was the only player showing any visible frustration over the offense's indifference towards scoring touchdowns. That's not the right way to channel the frustration, but at least it's something. It reminds me that there's a fucking pulse somewhere on that sideline.

I'm glad Rhule is out, although forcing him to spend a full season in this giant fart he laid while missing the college hiring cycle would have been a more just outcome. The fact that that clown can now go to college AD's and say "see, it wasn't my fault" really does make my blood pressure rise a bit. Nonetheless, the problem obviously runs much deeper than head coach. It seems like a bunch of people are just here to cash a check from the giant BoA and move on to their next place. I'm not sensing a ton of pride or effort from anybody.

I'm sonewhat leaning this way. The offense has been broken since Brady was fired.

Half the staff used to work for Rhule at Baylor. Even if Wilks gets retained, and he probably won't, we need a crew of NFL-level coaches across the board to come in and get these guys playing hard. We haven't scored more than three points on offense when it mattered in a good while now.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, for sure. And all the “we’re just a couple pieces away” chatter is a denial of this organization and roster.

If Homer and Fitterer, assuming he’s allowed to hire his guy blow this, the Panthers are another de facto Detroit Lions.

Keep the only lynchpins there and make a great fucking coaching hire.

it's obvious they had no faith in Walker to throw the ball

nobody can vacate the passing game and still win like John Fox
