Panthers vs Jets Running Commentary

It's almost as if the OL blockers forgot that the QB could actually get tackled.
I remember one of the first pass plays. Hurst was playing slightly behind the LOS on the left. It Hurst leaks out while avoiding contact. The DL stunts, the OL guard and tackle take each other out of the protection and Young gets creamed in the back as he delivers the pass.
Who gets the blame? Hurst for at least not chipping a rusher or at the very least getting in the way of the rush?
Lack of communication between guard and tackle? Coaches unprepared?
Maybe it's just that there are so many unknowns?

 

It was scat (5 man) protection. Christiansen and Icky didn't handle the T/E stunt. I don't know why, exactly.

had this been anyone else, people might say how he can't escape the pocket, holds the ball too long... but #1 overall picks get the benefit

I don't think it's all on the OL. He did hold the ball too long. He didn't avoid the pressure. He did miss his targets when it mattered.

Personally, I think 2 of those hits should have drawn a flag. The first one, the lineman came down on top of him with all his weight, the other I thought the hit came late. Hopefully Reich is having the league look at it

Friday night can't come soon enough. Need to see some positives.

But EVERYBODY likes our coaches! They are a bunch of really nice, personable, polite, kind hearted gentlemen. ..
and they are respected in their communities, and they go to church, and etc, etc, etc

 

The coaching staff becoming another ridiculous David Tepper bust is very easy for me to imagine. Nobody blocked or tackled Saturday, so I'm already wondering where all of that money is going.

Blank unfortunately may have learned from hiring cuckolds in the past. The Atl and NYJ staffs currently must not be soft because so far those teams look pretty damn hard
